Here's hoping all you guys enjoy your weekend, whatever you do. Not to be nosy, but do you visit your local parks or do you have a playgound in your backyard? I live in an apt., so we have to drive to be around swingsets and trees and grass. Do you stock up on items for the home? Do you visit relatives and have a big meal or do you hang out at a mall? LOLOL I'm really nosy!!! ;D I plan to buy a couch today, imagine that, we don't have one!!!lololol no, I'm not crazy, just silly today because I'm so happy it's the weekend and Jelani is home with me and not in school. I think we'll go to the park and hang out, we get lotsa stares from strangers when he tries to climb up the slide from where he slides down, instead of using the steps!!! But he loves just laying in the grass, even though I bring a blanket, lol. When he was 2, he was so terrified of grass! Now he just loves to throw a ball and kick around the dirt like a boy, I'm so proud of him! Then it's time for mommy, I haven't had a pedicure or manicure professionally in ions, and the do it yourself isn't lookin all that great Here's a coupla pics I sent to Liasmom and Googsmom...I know you all on line pm eachother privately, because when I look to see whose online...nobody ever posts!!!! LOLOL ;D WARNING>>>>my scanner sucks big time

Dawn, LOVE the pics!!!
I think you're asking what a typical fun weekend day might be for us? When my kids were much younger and enjoyed playing on swings, etc, we would go to a park........we had one for many years (it got torn down and they promised to build a bigger, nicer, newer one...but so far NO!) that was built specially for kids with special needs in our community. It had all sorts of swings that were easier for kids (like even for kids who were paralyzed and couldn't sit up, but who loved to swing!), wheel chair accessible ramps leading up to the slides, etc. When Emily was 3, we had a cool wooden playground thingy in our back yard, but all 3 kids seemed to outgrow it pretty fast. In the Winter, we typically take Em to gymnastics in the morning and go to a movie on Sat afternoon. In the Summer months, we try to go swimming in the afternoons. Jordan has always been into some sort of sports.......basketball, baseball, soccer, and now tennis. So, weekends usually always involve something like that. We have NO family locally at all, so no big meals at Grandma's house for us!! I'm always so envious of families who can do that!!!! We tend to go out to eat after church on Sundays.........and almost always to the same Mexican restaurant every week.
Ok............I'm not sure if that's what you wanted to know, but that's a typical Saturday for us!!!
TODAY, I did some grocery shopping, and finally did a bit of weeding in the front yard. YES ! ! ! ! And the sun did finally shine, despite winds and rain early this morning.
I hope you were able to get that pedicure! I LOVE them! I don't do acrylic nails or manicures at all (not sure why not!), but I get a pedicure once a month from April to October. I let my toenails and my wallet REST throughout the winter!

i love summer time the sun is out and we hang out outside i think its my favorite season- now if i had the body for nice shorts and cute summerdresses it would be perfect. well we go outside(backyard has a playset, and a pool soon) and sometimes movies but thats when something for kids is out(iron man and speedracer is on list right now) does jalani like to go to movies- kyle is on top of the world with popcorn and soda. friday my son gilbert has an mma class and i need to talk to instructor so kyle can learn to. i work a weird schedule so this is some things we do but last night my brother invited us over for a full day of fun-not, i have to work. so things need to be planned in advance and even then i am tired the park sounds nice for jalani to run i am planning my grandaughters b-day and j would have a blast-nothing special, just hang out at the house

Friday night was Laura's dance recital, and my mom and her hubby are here for that. We had a "post recital" party afterwards.
Typically on Friday night we all veg out. Saturdays we sleep in a little, then go do something together. Last weekend was some shopping and some minigolf, and out to eat. Today we went to a new outdoor shopping area in Myrtle Beach, and out for lunch at one of the new restaurants there. Swimming this afternoon.
Sundays are church in the am, then just hanging around the house/neighborhood in the afternoon. We usually do something outside if the weather is good.
For me, weekends are all about being together. Mike works such long hours during the week, that weekends are about the only time we get to spend "quality" time together.

yeesh- i wish i remembered what a typical weekend was like for us!!
i work every other saturday so that whole day is ruined for me, but the kiddies get to hang out with dad (and sometimes even come to visit mom at work!) on sundays, as often as possible, we try to go visit my grandma in the nursing home for an hour or two....and we *try* to make a pancake lunch together, but that doesn't always happen.
we have swing/slide/teeter totter/sand box in our backyard, and a nice playground a few minutes up the street, so we do either, or the kids just love to ride their bikes in the driveway when its nice out. and they love to just kick a soccer ball around, or toss & hit a baseball.
otherwise, we're going crazy running errands and stuff...never much fun relaxing on weekends for us!
I quit work in about 4 weeks to get ready for the new baby so i'll have all weekend off the entire summer!! I'm hoping we'll be able to get to the beach, or to some fun outing one day on the weekend (each weekend) and leave the chores and stuff for the 2nd day. the kids love to go to fairs and carnivals and waste my money...lol!!

Dawn, the pictures are great! Thank you for sharing. Since I'm the grandma, I have the opposite problem from Susan. My children and their children aren't close enough to come over for Saturday or Sunday dinner or I'd be thrilled to cook for them every week.
Saturday I went to my niece's house and had lunch with her and got a new recipe. I then went to the shop where my other niece works and got that pedicure and manicure. It was wonderful! I don't do acrylics and this week I broke both index fingernails so no great color...just very pale pink, but it's great anyway!
Today I got groceries, did laundry and baked an egg dish that will provide several meals this weel. Now, I'm considering a nap.
I'd give up all of that self-indulgence for weekends with my grandchildren. Those kids all have very nice play areas, and the ones who live in the city are very close to a nice park. The ones who live so far away are on 13 acres and they have wonderful things to play on and with and near.

Cool I am glad you asked this cause I am just as nosy hahahaha. I always try to imagine what life will be like when Noah is older, right now he is just a baby who pretty much stays in the car seat whenever we go somewhere. We usually walk to the beach ( my mom in lay lives about a mile away) , we actually are lucky and get to walk to the beach almost everyday for excercise. I always wonder ( my negative mind) if Noah will get stares or laughed at when he starts walking and running, and people can see that he has Ds = ( it makes me sad to think about. Enough about that, he is just blowing us away though, every day something new. We bought him his first seat today and he sat in it nice and straight and tall!!! When he first sat in it he kept slouching and tipping over, but he would try with all his might to balance himself and stay up. Now just later today he can look to both sides and up and down without tipping over. What an amazing little guy.

luckily i only have to work two saturdays a year, having five kids , three teenagers, believe me our week ends are full, no telling what is going on, victoria is touch sensitive on her feet, so when ever she would put her feet in grass she would pick them up , we had to carry her across it, she still wont walk in it bare footed, i remember the pt and my wife rubbing a brush on her feet and palms to desensitize them to touch, i still rub victorias feet, she loves it, they have the rough, criss crossed with with lines and creases, we live in an area where there are tons of things to do, hike, hunt, drives in the desert, fish, anyone that says they are bored in idaho suffer from lack of imagination, this fall my three oldest kids and i are going on a moose hunt, shhhh dont tell rocky cuz he will blab to bullwinkle! today we had the pleasure of watching alvin and chipmunks five times in a row, yeah..........some one i wont tell you who , but her name rymes with victoria, wont let us watch anything else, we have a large back yard , but its full of lumber and misc, because we are remodeling our house, so i put up a fence to secure victoria, with a little play house, of course she picked the lock on the gate and got away so now the gates are tied shut, the dog is back there so its not real nice to play in(poop) but victoria likes to play in her play house(on stilts) from there she can see over the fence so thats pretty cool, i hope to fix a better back yard this year,
and no your not nosey, its fun learning about the people in our group.......... we are probably the biggest family in the world, tied together with strings of love, beauty and hope
