This Mothers Day is a time for reflection for me. I appreciate being a part of our group here and just wanted to share some thoughts I had this morning. I know for a fact, as with many moms, our children change our lives for the better...
The miracle of life is the greatest gift, their smiles warm our hearts, their unconditional love brings us to tears, their achievements make us proud, their struggles are our struggles, their hopes our hopes, their fears our fears, our patience is tested and our minds challenged, they reveal the beauty in life we sometimes forget, they push us to our limit and remind us of what's truely important, sometimes they scare us, and then enlighten us, then drive us crazy, but bring us back to our senses, they are the reason we are here, they are the reason we are stronger, wiser, more caring, more aware...they complete us and nurture our souls, we can only hope we provide them all they need to survive, to be happy, loving, and strong adults...and to live up to their expectations. Being a mom requires us to be that beacon of light, that pillar of strength, that disciplinarian, that huggable teddy bear, that cook, driver, teacher, medic, maid, coach, friend....and we would do it all again, and ask only for their love, and their love is what keeps us alive. The bond between mother and child transcends all space and time. I'm so thankful God gave me this most important job, that He granted me the greatest gift of all, my son. I pray for the wisdom to be the best mom for him.
You know, Jelani is my first, my one and only, born a tad bit later in life, and I appreciate so much, everything he brings home to me from school, his very presence, his everything! I'm so thankful he's my son, and that I'm his mommy.
Happy Mothers Day everyone!
