HI all... ;D I just have a little brag about my Brookster. Ok so you all know how I was not into signing and then had my mind changed.(Yea, I still feel like a total *#%%^ for not starting this sooner, but...) We've been watching Signing Time (All day, every day, wont come out of bedroom to do anything else but eat. From the time she gets up I swear that is all she will do ) She has caught on to SOO many signs. I've kept track and we are at 22 different signs and she even uses them in the right way at the right time. One proud momma here ;D She is even putting 2-3 signs together to make her own sentence. Like, "momma loves baby" , "I want milk" , "I want more eggs" and many more but my all time favorites are "The goat eats apples" and the one we can't show Gramma "I eat goat" (we do not eat goat but it's a sentence ) I'm just thrilled. And you know the best part? Hubby is even learning signs so i'm not all alone in the teaching and communicating. Yeaaa She is one smart cookie and I just had to share. For all the new parents out there lurking..... Go get the Signing Time!!!!!!

WTG, Brooke! (and Mom and Dad!) We loved the Signing Time videos when Katie was little. I still find myself singing the Silly Pizza Song from time to time. Deane

WTG Googs!!! That is soooo cool! Love the "goat eats apples" - "eat" and "apple" were Stevie's favorite signs, in fact, "apple" is the only one she still signs when she says it. She seems to have forgotten all the others since she's ramped up her speaking.

I am soooo jealous. Congrats Brookie!!!!!!! Elizabeth watches every day and is still not using signs yet but we continue to be helpful and hopeful.
I am glad that our kids can communicate with us and that we are able to keep them growing.
Thanks for sharing.

WTG Brooke!!!! She really IS one smart cookie! Doesn't it feel GREAT to be able to communicate with her and know what's on her mind? Emily's favorite signs were "eat" and "More"...........more playing, more bathtime, more EATING, etc. It was a very important word! Thanks for sharing! Susan

Sounds like she's doing a great job picking up on it! Don't you love when they can actually start communicating what they want? ;D

Thanks everyone It is very nice she can tell me what she wants. No more screaming b/c she is mad she wants something and mommy doesn't know what. So happy!!! My sister even learned from her friend at her work "You want more pop?" She thinks it's quite funny b/c Brook doesn't get pop from momma, just Auntie Elizabethdad.... She will catch on, promise Just keep at it and you learn too and what I did is only sign to her and when she signs something like water or milk or apple, I went and got it right away. Putting two and two together in her head really helped Yes Dawn, Mary had a wonderful graduation and was the "Bell of the Ball"
