I don't know about a nanny. If I were closer i'd come help. How'd you break it? Oh I feel so bad for you Renne" I broke both my collar bones when I was a teen falling off my horse. They never healed right. They just fused together but not straight. Slightly off kilter a bit. I know your pain! {{{{{{{{{SUPER BIG HUGS}}}}}}}}}

It was a horse. I was bucked off. He stepped on me too. I have whiplash, broken collar bone and hurt pride. I am blessed I didn't break my neck.

Oh I'm sorry to hear this! I broke my collerbone (actually it was splintered) about ten yrs ago and I know it's so painful as it's healing! I had an idea about the nanny... maybe as a short term thing you can contact your local Regional Center and inquire about respite care hours that you can request with your child's worker. I was given 21 hours a month and have yet to use them (silly me) just because I didn't want to go through interviewing ladies through the agency they contract with. Call the Regional Center's Family Resource Center too and they may have leads. * Another idea is this site: www.care.com/Here's something too I was thinking, as strange as it may sound, maybe inquire with your child's Special Education Dept. because the aides that have worked with the children all year may have some summer hours available to help you at home. What better person than someone who knows your child? Goodluck!!!

Oh man Renee............I'm so sorry to hear about your injuries! Wish I knew something about how/where to hire a nanny, but I really don't. (Not even in my own state, sigh) We have a place here called the "Respite Coalition" that provides $$ for respite care for kids with special needs, but the parents still have to find the actual caregiver. And something like that would only provide care for Lauren....not the other children. Wish I could be more help!
