???I have a 4 y/o godson with DS who has been throwing several and violet temper tantrums. During his tantrums he self inflicts pain, by jaming his thumbs in his forehead and kicking himself in the right side of the head. This causes lots of sores and bleeding. Many times these are brought on for no reason. We can be playing or eating and suddenly he throws himself to the grownd and begins beating himslef. Other times if you are with him and need to get up, he again starts in with beating himself. Short car rides bring them on, it is hard to stop them when you are on the road and he is buckled in the seat. They seem to be more violent in the car. Intervention has been tried, and as soon as he is the center of attetion again they subside. Does anyone have any advice on what can be causing the severity and onset of these tantrums???
