Hmmm. I wonder what she means by "red" & how that will differ from the result. It is fun to get hair dyed - I was such a chicken about it until I was "forced" by too much gray to do it. It seems that no matter what brown I choose, it always turns out red - sometimes dark, sometimes light, but always red. I must have more red in there than I knew. Maybe one day I will try really red - nah, I'm not that brave.
Pics are a must, Jackie. You do know that, right?

don't think it's happened yet. This will be a do it yourself adventure. Katie has l'oreal something or other that doesn't bleach your hair and lasts 25 shampoos ...so doubt it will be THAT red...but will give us an idea of HOW it MIGHT look done professionally...LOL.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the 25 shampoo thing. I used to be a hairdresser and can tell you red is the hardest color to get in and the hardest to get out. It may last a lot longer, especially the ends. But color can always be corrected and I personally think it is wonderfully fun to change hair. I think Emily will look great with red!

Katie says they finished about midnight...LOL. Said Emily looked into the mirror...didn't say much cuz her hair was soaking wet...then burst into tears. Katie tried to find out why she was upset because they had talked about it not looking red until it was dry and think for some reason she was not supposed to do much to it until today. Katie said she seemed to understand and got her laughing about it...said you could tell the ends were red.
But...since they all went to bed and no one was up when Katie left for work...she doesn't know the results...and we think that for Emily (like many older people with DS) maybe she was just scheduled for a good cry and this was the impetus. ;D
Hayden (9) is intent on giving Emily a make over today and they will wash and dry her hair and have her picture taken.
My hairdresser also told me that she probably won't have too much in the way of results from this product...but we shall see. What I am worried about is that she still has highlighting left about half way down her hair. It still looks nice but now I am afraid that that goldish color mixed with the red will give her ORANGE...LOL...or is that just the artist in me???

I am sure it will be lovely as it softens. I am a natural red head but have to enhance it now due to those pesky grays. I actually got asked if my hair color was real. I love being a red hed. And Emily has the Spirit and feistyness to pull it off.

I think Emily would look good with red hair. It would really make her look diffrent. I guess it depends on how red it is.
I have reddish brown hair. During the summer time the red really comes out. Mom thinks I have more auburn hair. She says I am really a red head. I don't think so. You can still see some brown in it. ;D There is red in it though.............Debbie
