So they sent us in for an ultrasound of the pit. Brook freeeeked out. Poor thing. The nurse/ultrasound lady did not take the class in "how not to freek out parents". She ultrasounded the pit and says "i'll go get the doc and he will talk to you and your all done" Hmmm ok. Not a minute later she is back in kinda a hurry needed another ultrasound of the vein that has appeared in the last week in her pit. She spent 10 minutes measuring and doing all her ultrasounding stuff on this vein. Wouldn't even tell me a darn thing. Now I have to sit and wait for Dr Tami to get back to me What on Earth could they be looking for? I'm NOT going to google this one..LOL, Notgunna!!

Ok Jenn...pardon me, excuse me for being out of line, or whatever....but what the heck is it with these "professionals" that you have to "wait" Can't the head person, lead person or whomsoever just come out from the back room and speak with you? I hate it...all about the upper managemant or what? Maybe they just don't know. Maybe they need to consult whomsoever. At least if it was an urgency they'd have referred you out, right? Oh man, x0x0x0x to you and Brooks. I'm coming to Oregan to stir things up! I'm sorry the pit prob is still unclear.

Ohhh, that's the worst having to wait!!! Any idea when the doctor is supposed to get back with you?
I agree, DON'T Google it and get worked up about something when it could be absolutely nothing to worry about.
Keep us posted.

So....have you broken down and googled yet? If you are anything like me, well, let's just say, I don't have much self control! I understand you when you said that she didn't take the class "How not to freek out parents", I have run across this type many times before. Well, if you have been successful in NOT googling yet, GREAT for you and DON'T! Take a very deep breath and let us know what's up when you hear! Hugs to you and Brooke, and I will say a prayer for you this morning for good news!

Ok..I am really confused..this is a vein they are looking at? Not a possible cyst or nodule? I think you should just ASK what are you looking for...or what do you suspect this might be before leaving next time. I realize the tech can't answer those questions but you have every right to ask your physician. Make a call. And of course if you are waiting for that call...just remember that in medicine often NO news is GOOD news. Jackie

Yes No news is good news but I did just fax the doc the orders from the PT to get a script for Brookers Sure Steps and at the bottom reminded Dr Tami to call ASAP w/ any news I have NOT googled vein in pit. Practicing self control here Been at the hosp w/ hubby all am and now I think we'll try and have a nap Jackie, they were looking around to see why Brooks pit has been hurting her for weeks now. She had a spine xray and that seemed fine so then off to ultrasound to see if there was something in there we couldn't see or feel. There is this vein that has appeared in the last week that is very black looking and about an inch visable only in the pit she complains about. The ultrasound lady was really concentrating on that vein. Probally to tell the momma that she is nuts and nothing is wrong w/ the Brooker pit. I don't know, wishful/hopeful thinking I know I should of just asked for someone to tell me something but Brook was Not a happy camper and had snot flying everywhere and that goo stuff allll over the place and she wanted to go NOW. Ugggg....

I know the waiting is no fun...but no news is actually good news. I remember Jelani's renal ultrasound and it wasn't fun either. I had to straddle him, pinning him down, my knees on his legs while holding his arms and my butt in the air! .... and all the while the female tech was doing her best getting around my body to him! Sending positive thoughts

Dr Tami called. They can't find anything. They were looking at the vein to make sure there was no clot or something. I'm suppose to wait and see. Take notes on when Brook points to her pit and write down what she is/was doing before pit pain. Should I do as Dr says or look for a second opinion? Maybe Brook is having growing pains? I'm lost/confused. Gots to go to work now So this is what I have to see..... so sad for the momma.

I'm sorry that it is a wait and see thing. Guess it's better than finding something terrible. It never hurts to get a 2nd opinion, especially if you have a gut feel. We know our kiddos better and spend so much time with them, we know when something is just not right. Go with your gut...no shame or guilt in that! By the way, Brook has the most beautiful lips! People pay big money to get lips like those! What a beautiful daughter you have!!!

Did you ever google it ? I was going to do a poll and see how many of us googled it even though you said you were going to restrain yourself. If it were me....I would google it....see if there was anything very worrisome.....IF there was....I would absolutely get a second opinion......if there was NOT.....AND I felt comfortable with the first doctor and all that was done....I'd wait and see...... having said that.....I think I'd really listen to myself and Brooke and if feeling anything worrisome....go for the second opinon !
