I think Sarah Palin does know something about actually LOVING someone with a disability. I dont think any of us are true "experts". But we know how we feel about our kids. We are advocates because we love them. I think she feels the same way. To tell you the truth, I never really thought about people with disabilities before I loved someone with a disability. I know that sounds awfull, but its true. I think its hard to understand until you go through it.

Tiffany I get what you are saying. I was the same. It never effected my life so I didn't really think about it until Lauren was born.

What you have to remember and keep in mind is that Sarah Palin not only had a baby with Down syndrome but not too long after that, was asked to run for vice-president. Two very important and big jobs! I think she is a nice person and has a good heart, but, she is a politician. She has not had the time to really take everything in as you all have had to do. I think being a parent is the most important thing than being vice-president though. Yes, she has mentioned Down syndrome several times but, I heard her say a child with special needs more often because she wants those parents to be included. I guess it is a little of both. I sure do feel sorry for her though. The press has really done a number on her!............Debbie
