Ok...time to post what everyone is doing for this ...one of my favorite...holidays....(couldnt be the food, could it?)
I will have my whole family here...It begins with Emily flying Thursday to Dallas and then ...David my son will start the influx by driving up Saturday from Dallas with Emily and his two little guys...Sam 3 and Max 2 . His wife Jessica will fly in Tuesday....then Katie and her family which includes Jordan 9 and Hayden 5... will drive in late Wednesday and Marnie will fly from DC late late Wed.
We will all get up Thursday morning and decide whether we want to be a pilgrim or an indian and make our respective hats...(indians get to paste feathers...and pilgrims this year have plastic top hats that require making a white band and silver aluminum foil buckle). Of course OUR feast always has a lot more indians cuz feathers are ever so much fun!!!!!
Then we will go pick up the cajun turkey I am going to order already hot and ready to carve....and...dig in....
Although I am also considering just packing everyone up and going out to the Big Texan that is tons of fun...and taking reservations for a big big feast. Not sure if my kids will go for that, though. Just think...tons of food and NO DISHES AND CLEAN UP...strolling cowboy bluegrass band...and get a smoked turkey to carve at home for sandwiches.
We have a neat new house in an older neighborhood and I was hoping for good weather so we could eat outside in the courtyard....under the magnolia tree...but it looks like snow or rain for the next two weeks so nixing that idea. Going to be more of an "over the river and thru the woods" holiday for us I guess.
We are putting up our tree this week and will decorate it after our meal....and hopefully my kids will now take home some of the..."too many" ornaments we have collected thru the years....but I want them to leave the angels with the pink noses that have faded all over their faces due to being licked....and the Sesame street Kermit that is barely there with us due to being played with so often...etc.
Anyhow...thats my story...and I will post a pic of the pilgrims and indians if I get a good one.
