interesting day to say the least. Colin, Chris and I left early for the city in case of traffic and such. Just as we are a block away from the Columbia the cell rings and its the surgeon's office. The Gal is like where are you, I tell her and she is like Oh NO we need to cancel. I was like NOPE you can't do that I am here and this boy just has to have the bandage taken off today. I said get a nurse someone in ER another Doctor I don't care who LOLOL Seems the surgeon was called into emergency surgery. Any who she calls me back and said K, can you hang around for a few hours he will see you as soon as he is done. I was like YUP I will hang here as long as you need ;D
Went and had the X-rays done then lucky for us in the lobby they were having a Scholastic Book Fair and some gal was reading to the kids and then a big Clifford the red Dog came out to see the kids. Chris sat off to the side but Clifford came over to him and we all had our photos taken. They took his name and said they would mail the photos to us Least this all gave us something to do for a few hours.
K, now to the GREAT part. We finally meet up with the Doc he takes the bandage off and OMG guys you cannot tell at all that there is anything under his skin. NOT at ALL I tell you ;D ;D ;D A larger scar then I would have thought but scars don't bother Chris so who cares. I wish I had this on video so you could see for yourself the difference in him walking around with the bandage on and the moment it was off he was back to the Chris we all know and love ;D Starting yapping away to the Doc tapping everyone showing them the thing was off. I said to the Doc OMG you hid it better then I could have ever imagined and he said well thats what you asked for
Then get this OMG it was actually cool that they can do this. They took this thing that looked like a magnifying glass and told Chris to hold it over the area the pace maker is and then turned on this machine thing and the amount of info they got was just unbelievable to me He showed me and told me that in just the last 3 days Christopher's heart beated a little over 703,000 times and that the pace maker kicked in 22,000 times, which is about a third of the time I guess. He didn't say if that was alot or not alot but it did reinforce for Colin and I that yes he did need it. They could tell what time of day the PM kicked in and just all kinds of info it truly was amazing and very cool to see.
Since tomorrow is Friday we are letting Chris stay home and will start back in school on Monday. Although Chris has informed us all that on Tuesday at 12 he is going to Disney LOL
THANKS to you all for sharing this experience with us it was not going as I hoped BUT it has ended as I prayed and hoped for ;D
