Hi, I haven't posted in a long time but I do still lurk every once in a while. My son Yosh needs your prayers. Monday he had a fundoplication for acid reflux and there were complications after surgery. Now he's on a ventilator and completely sedated so he can't pull it out. Its breaking my heart to see my happy active little boy lying so still. He hasn't stopped moving since the minute he was born . He's come through all his other surgeries so well, but this time he got congested and had trouble breathing. He's gotten a little better today, which is why I can stop crying long enough to write this. I miss his smiles and hugs and kisses. Even though he's 2 feet away from me, it feels like we've been apart forever. And I know his first three signs when he wakes up will be sorry, all done and home. He always thinks he's done something wrong when he' s really sick. So please pray for Yosh (Yehoshua Binyamin HaLevy Ben Tzerel is his full Hebrew name) Thank you

Kerri,
All prayers, hugs and heartfelt thoughts coming to you and Mr. Yosh. I do remember you. My daughter was born in Nov of 2002 and you were encouraging to me then. Our kids are close in age.
Please, please, please keep us posted.
You mentioned you will know his first three signs when he wakes up. Do you mean sign language? If so, what will they be?
God Bless, Kim and Dani

Thanks for your prayers. It looks like Yosh might be off the ventilator tomorrow. He woke up a little today, but kept moving around so much they had to sedate him again.
This has been his hardest and scariest hospital stay, but he is doing better. This all started because his acid reflux caused feeding issues. The fundoplication was supposed to be a simple operation. The only part of that that was a problem was that the dr. didn't believe us when we said Yosh would pull out the g-tube they had to put in to let gas escape. We told him that Yosh pulled out his ng tube when he was only 1 day old, had an iv in his arm and mittens on his hands and that at 6 he could pull anything out of anywhere. According to the dr no child would ever pull out a g-tube, but guess what. The instant Yosh woke up he pulled on the tube. We have no way of knowing if that contributed to the breathing problems, but I really hate it when drs don't listen. I know my son and I know what he's capable of .
To answer Kim and Dani, I was talking about sign language. And I'm pretty sure the first things he'll sign will be sorry (because being sick makes him think he did something bad), all done, and home.
