Funny thread. Just wanted to chime in and say....
In PA - We also have porkroll sandwiches. A party store - sells party supplies - birthdays, holidays, etc.
A - back to your subdivisions - we say "neighborhood" - "we live in that neighborhood"
We go "food shopping" - not many say to the "grocery store" anymore and we get a "cart"
I think in the US we're all about the same on the Pot Plant, and what it means to us - LOL.
I used to work with a girl from Belgium and one day she came into the lunchroom and announced "the cat's out" - all of us were like "what cat???".... ultimately, she meant the boss...the boss was gone.... ie. "when the cat's away, the mice will play"....

Wow, I just had to say I can not believe the prices in your areas!! East coast is still much higher - $2.39 was the lowest I have seen so far, then today, same station up 10 cents again.

Wow!! That is awesome - 2.34!! YES, I had the chicken pox when I was young - but not young enough at age 16. It was awful, and I have scars to this day.
TPBM loves Dancing With The Stars.

False - beds are off limits for our puppy - and with the way people feel about their pets, I'd tend to say I am the oddball, LOL.
TPBM has seen gas cheaper than 2.39 for regular per gallon - within the last week!!

Hi Susan - It's okay now, but terrible at the time. I do remember 8 years ago, because that fiasco was shortly after I joined the board after Paige was born. I didn't want to make anyone feel bad or bring up bad memories, I just wanted people to realize that our online extended family can hurt us badly, and I saw the thread going a little south and didn't want a repeat. I agree we should all support the next President, whomever it may be.

Listen, if I may just say this one thing. Four years ago, I stopped posting on this board because of heated discussions and bashing about the election. While I have still come back to read, I will never forget the things that were said to me regarding my opinions on one candidate or another. It would be a shame to lose anyone else on this board.
I feel that the moderators have done such a great job keeping these threads in check, as well as the people posting them. We all have different opinions. Everyone's opinon on change is not, and never will be the same. Just as we ask others to accept our kids differences, I think we need to be open minded enough to accept each others differences as well. As said before, this is the best thing about the USA.
Debbie....who is staying out of these threads, but wanted to share a real experience of hurt to try and spare others the same.

I think you know in your heart when they are ready. Paige was 5 before she was potty trained. I tried to do it before that, but regardless of what I did, she, herself, was not ready. So the summer after she turned 5, she was put on the potty every half hour and when she went we did alot of happy dances. It did not take long - within 3 days she was dry at home during the day, 5 days I felt safe enough to take her in the car for short periods of time, then within 2 weeks she was completely trained, including night time. We've had few accidents since that period of time, usually only when she is sick. She still needs prompting to go because she will "hold it" forever.

Kelly - yes on both...when the length got to short, I cut the feet out, and still put them on her backwards. When the legs were longer, I just turned the feet around, they are a little twisted at the ankle, but it works and does not cause a problem walking, etc. There were also times, I cut the elastic in the feet and just turned them around. This lasted awhile with Paige - probably 3 years or so.

True!! We all got them in the beginning of October. I skipped mine last year and got the real flu - 10 days of misery. Never again!
TPBM has never had the flu.

I have no advice, but wanted to say that, in my case this got better with age. Kelly - try putting the footed sleepers on backwards...zipping them up the back, cut the tags out of the front. He will never be able to get them off and you won't need to use the diaper pins thru the zippers. I had Paige in blanket sleepers backwards until about age 5. Debbie
