Thanks for asking...................slowly feeling better, but I definitely still feel it when I breathe (hmmmmm, I think that's all the time, huh?) and when I lift my left arm. I say, I'd rather go for a WATER ride next time...............a bit safer, I think!

Although our family is soooooooooooooooo disappointed that Adrienne's crew can't join us, we would love to go to a get together...........if it can get worked out. There's still almost a month to plan. Let's hope for the best!

True. And I'm hoping it all goes well. Things have been so tense so far! But yes........looking forward to it!
TPBM is dreading the day when they have no children in elementary school. (My youngest kids are now highschoolers, and I'm feeling sad about that!)

Somehow, I had never heard of him before. But, I'm going to buy his book "The Last Lecture". What a wonderful attitude this guy had!

Aw, CC..............I'm sorry the news from the doc wasn't what we had hoped it would be. Please know that we care and that we are thinking about and praying for Chris. Please let us know how the other tests come out. Susan

I don't know Chris........just assumed it meant it was a sign of my bones getting older and more fragile. I've ridden a LOT of roller coasters in my life and never broke a bone doing it! Makes me a bit reluctant to try it again.

False. Not much traffic in our neighborhood. And our family room (where we spend 99% of our time) is toward the back of the house, so we don't really hear anything from the street at all. It's also nice, because the kids have always been able to ride their bikes on our street, since there is no traffic.
TPBM can walk to a grocery store from their home.

Debbie, I don't enjoy the steel coasters that go upside down at all..........I get a headache, and it's just not worth it. But a good old fashioned wooden one? Now, THAT'S fun.

A few years ago, we talked about this. And we (several of us, anyway) sent emails. But not LOTS of emails. And not from LOTS of members. So, maybe this is a good way to do it? Maybe a video type of email? It would be really cool if the show would pay for a LOT of us to get together there to meet in person! Anyway, it's worth thinking about.

We've talked about this a few times before, but we really really SHOULD be on a segment of "Oprah" about something GOOOOOD that comes from the internet..............our online friendships and support of each other! I thought about it again today because today's "Oprah" show is about the Jonas Brothers, and she said it was done simply because 2 sixteen year old girls got on an email campaign to convince Oprah to have the Jonas Brothers on the show. They did a video email, then a barrage of other emails and it worked!
So...........I think with all the negative stuff that comes from the WWW, our site is SUCH a positive thing for so many people; from parents of adults with Ds, to parents of babies even before they are diagnosed with Ds. What a great story we would be!

I know this probably belongs in the "fun topics" section, but it just is NOT fun at all, and I just need to whine.
Last Saturday, we went to Dollywood for the day. Had a GREAT time, and Emily loved all the rides...........especially the big wooden roller coaster. She insisted on riding with her dad, and I sat several seats behind them. I love that ride......normally! We went over one big hill, and my butt came up off the seat a few inches. I love it when that happens!!! BUT, when I came back down to my seat, my ribcage "caught" on the bar that holds you in your seat. And, I felt a "snap". Hurt like crazy, and I was miserable the rest of the ride.........and honestly for the rest of the day, although I tried to keep smiling and have a good day. The pain hasn't gotten better, and taking a deep breath is sooo painful, so I went to a walk in clinic last night after work. They did an Xray, and sure enough..............one rib is cracked. The doc said to apply ice, not lift anything heavy, and take Ibuprofen (800mg 3 times a day..........yuck!) and to do deep breathing exercises to prevent pneumonia. I could have given myself that same advice, I guess without going to the doctor. But now I know why it hurts so bad.
I mentioned this to my dad, and his comment was basically that I needed to realize I was just tooooooo old to be riding roller coasters. Surely NOT!

True. And honestly, I'm really glad that none of my kids have done so many of the things I did as a teen! I had a "smart mouth"......more than my kids ever have, etc. When I first learned to drive, my grandma would send me to the grocery store (3 blocks from our home), and I would drive FAST all over Wichita for 2 hrs!!! I'd go and see friends across town, I'd drive on the interstate knowing I was not allowed to do that, etc. And when I returned, I never got into trouble like my kids would!
TPBM was raised by someone other than their parents.
