The stuff people try to sell!!! I've used DMSO for joint pain (rubbed onto my knees, not taken internally), and the only thing it did was give me a horrible taste in my mouth.

Sharon, Emily had a great birthday, followed by another great day at Dollywood (exhausting for her parents, but SHE had a blast). She loved the Wii, but seemed even more excited about the Shrek 2 DVD her brother bought for her! For some reason, she had the first and 3rd Shrek movies, but not the 2nd and she thought she just had to have it. She got money from grandparents and her favorite aunt, and went to Target to spend a bit of it. She'll shop with the rest of the $$ next weekend; just before school starts. UGH! School starts one week from tomorrow!

So, get this!! Emily and I went back to see Mamma Mia again today! Emily kept saying she wanted to see it again (even after saying she really didn't like it Friday night), so we did. And she LOVED it!!! Now, she is saying it's her favorite movie "EVER". She bought the CD with some of her birthday money, and walks around the house singing "Dancing Queen". She now wants her dad to take her to see it again.
And, I agree Sharon......................Meryl's 2 friends absolutely cracked me up!!! Emily was doing impressions of one of them today; oh my!!! Honestly, the only thing I didn't like about the movie was the frequent use of the phrase "Oh My Gawwwwwdddddd" (VERY dramatic sounding). That will end up being the one thing Emily repeats from the movie, and it's a phrase I hate.
It's rated PG13, but I've been to lots of PG movies with worse language. Lots of innuendo in this one, but the language wasn't bad at all.

Awwww CC, you're ALL going to have a blast! (Well, maybe not Collin if he has to work!) I agree with you.........it's a HUGE milestone for Chris and for you too. I was very very hesitant too, and Emily didn't have the heart issues Chris has had. But I'm going to be thinking positive thoughts (and saying a few prayers) that Chris will have an awesome time and that you will be able to relax and just have FUN.

Ok.........that was one of the FUNNEST (ok...not good grammar, I know!) movies I've seen in ages! If you liked Abba, if you ever sang any of their songs, you have to see this one! It was hysterical............middle aged women at the theater were dancing in the aisles at the end of the movie!!!! TOO funny. Oh, and don't get up to leave when the credits start to roll. There's more, and it's FUN. This is a great movie for a group of ladies to see together.
And Emily?? She grinned throughout the whole movie, but when we got home she told her dad "I hated that one". But, she is walking around the house singing "Mamma Mia". Go figure! I'LL be going again!

Emily is 17 today!!!!!!!! I simply can't believe how the years have flown! I'm rushing off to work right now, but we are taking Emily out to eat at a Japanese Steakhouse........one of her favorite places of all. She is also going to see a play at our local playhouse this afternoon with a group of teens from our church; "Beauty and the Beast". She knows some of the people who are in it. And tonight, we hope to go and see "Mamma Mia".
I went to her room just a minute ago to wake her up, but she was already wide awake (totally unusual for her this summer!). As soon as she saw me, she said "MOM!! YOU REMEMBERED"!!!!! LOL ummmm YES, I remembered. We put a happy birthday banner on her wall right in front of her bed after she fell asleep last night.......something simple, but she was really excited about it when she woke up.
Her big gift this year, instead of cash, is a Wii. She plays it all the time at church and loves it..........so I'm hoping she'll be very excited!
For those of you with young children, trust me when I tell you this: It just keeps on getting better and better! This girl is SUCH a joy to us!!!!

Sharon, Thank you so much!! The pre-conference by Drs Chiccione and McGuire is the one I would have attended, so I was glad to know a bit of what I missed in that one. I do have their book. I went to the sexuality session you mentioned last year, and remember the speaker saying frequently "I go into that in more detail in my book". I still need to get that book! Glad you had a good time. Susan
