[glow=red,2,300][/glow]The testing done last week confirmed my lovebug has hyperthryroidism. She also ended up in the ER. She came into my room very restless and curled into a ball. She had a temp and then threw up a few times and then once when we got to ER. She was vert mottled and gray Her O2 levels were in the 80' and pulse at 160 up to 200. They put in an IV line as they thought she would have to be transported to Children's. She took some Tylenol and that little stinkpot love of mine was back to her old self within an hour or two so we went home. My ex came to the hospital. I guess she gave the Dr a bit of a scare. I imagine it was part viurs and part over active thyroid. She also has a nodule on her thyroid. My ex is taking her to the ultrasound as I imagine I will need to take work off for whatever course of action is needed. Dani has expressed pain in her abdomen area (which I wonder if her heart is pumping to fast and she is having some angina) and has a voracious appetitie. Needless to say, she sleeps with me at night. A specialist is suppose to be in contact soon. Other than that Dani enjoys kindergarten and is in her regular classroom 73% of the time. Just venting as my parents are gone and Dani is my only child. I have great siblings but they are all busy with their own lives. Also a bit worried. Dani does not have any heart issues and we sure don't want any now. Take care, Kim [glow=red,2,300]Dani-I will love you forever and ever[/glow]

Thanks googsmom. Jackie, Dani's pediatrician was concerned that Dani has not grown since her last check up. I took her in for her kindergarten check up and she had barely grown. She is 5 years old and is 42 inches and 42 pounds. She had a thyroid test done and it came back with very unusual readings. So--hence the testing begins. Her past thyroid tests have been normal. Thanks for asking. Dani's feet have grown though. She jumped from a 9 to 11 in a few months. The only I have really noticed is Dani is quite thirsty and eats a lot. So, I am concerned about diabetes. This is why I requested a full blood panel work up. I sure enjoy hearing about Em. Kim

Okay, I am worried but glad they are doing Dani's thyroid test earlier. She was to have testing done on the 28th and 29th of August. Thank goodness I did not move my clients around yet. On Thursday, I got a call, they moved her testing up to Monday at a different hospital. My thoughts are twofold. I am glad we are going to get to find out sooner what--if anythng is going on. And two, why are they rushing these tests.
Dani's dad took her to have her respiration tested. I took her for a complete blood work up yesterday. I requested a full blood panel screen. When I got there, the orders were for her thyroid. I said she had those already and finally I said do the orders but make sure the full blood panel work up is done too. My Dr. did not want the blood work done, where Dani is having her test done at tomorrow. Normally Dani goes to Children's, but we are taking her to a different hospitial tomorrow. The technologist called me on Friday and asked how to give Dani the iodine as she will not take a pill. We agreed on applesauce. The technologist said they do not do these tests on kids very often. I sure hope it is because it is a different hospital and not that it is a procedure that is just not done much ever. I am sure they do it more at Children's.
My ex and I are even being cordial to each other. But, yike this is the first time since he left me over 2 1/2 years ago that I will be around him. I wish my family or friends were there. I asked him not to bring his girlfriend and he agreed.
Dani is so active, busy and the picture of health. Please keep her in thoughts and prayers that if anything is found--it is easily managed. The Endocronologist'sf response to Dani's thyroid screen is what had Dani's pediatrician concerned.
Things that make you go hhhmmm.
Well it got quiet upstairs. Dani likes to gather all her dolls around the table and set out plates, utensils, cups and food from the pantry. Uh oh, I think I hear her trying to open something.
Her first days of kindergarten seemed to go well.
I just love her so much. You all know what I mean. I could love on her. Spoiled girl. She is my only child.
Happy Sunday all, Kim ;D

Wow, I must have missed this thread. WTG Stevie. So glad your mommy is adjusting great as you are doing so well.
I am not on here enough. How old is Stevie?
Dani started kindergartend on Thursday. She hit 8 times the first day and once the second day. Good news is her school does not agree with her IEP from the previous school district that wanted Dani to be put in a self contained classroom %100 of the time. I had to fight for 75%. We will have a new IEP meeting end of September as they feel Dani would do much better be in her main classroom then being pulled out.
Keep on going Stevie. You are such a sweetie.
Kim

Thyroid

Well, I heard from the Doctor. It is not an underactive thyroid. The Endocronologist was asking her all these questions about Dani such as pulse, heart palatations and other things I have not associated with the thyroid.
Dani is scheduled for an all day ultrasound procedure at our local Children's Hospital. My Doctor said it may be Grave's disease. We have two days of testing. So her blood work must have been quite abnormal.
Tell me not to Google or I will work myself up.
They can't get her in for a few weeks so will let you know what they find out. I was really hoping she needed something like synthroid.
She starts kindergarten tomorrow.
Thanks for listening.
