I too have heard many of these misconceptions.....however, when marlena was born, i had no idea she had Ds. when the docs finally told me 12 hours they suspected it my first though was OMG she will die before me. thank god for the internet, because that night we were on it trying to find every answer to every question that the diagnosing doctor would not stay to answer. we knew nothing, fernandos family actually pointed at me saying i did drugs while i was pregnant n that God was punishing me. too bad i never did drugs, and too bad they did that because now they wish they can know her but she is too good for any of them. I also feel sad when i think she will never be a mom. she crawled @ 13 months, until 19 months, then walked. she does sign alot, but says funny stuff like "sooes"(shoes) "nice" "baff"(bath) "ahhhh done" "dinka"(drink) "off" "bahbay" (hooray)"ay ya you"(i love you)"puhpuh"(puppy) she loves loves latin music! gets that from daddy, dances like a crazy woman, LOL hiliarious! she does everything almost better than "normal kids" 2nd worst thing anyone has ever said to me, "Im so sorry." WTF are you sorry for? Can't you see this amazing little girl?

Ok so it might help, marlena had this problem a few months back her GI doc said it was "post viral IBS" and talking to a lot of nutritionalists, 1 finally had the answer, High Fat Diet, sound bad,I know. but marlena had a little viral infection and months after the antibiotics were done she developed water poo. This pediatric nutritionlist said to add high fat foods to her diet she suggested things like extra butter yuk! so i gave her heavy whipping cream (about 2 ounces a day) and by golly she got better in 1 day. 7 weeks of exploding water poo gone! GI doc said that the fat in the whipping cream slowed the digestion process enuf to form into poo. however i dont think anyone should try this without talking to the doctor!
