Just wanted to share with those who don't have facebook. Chases' bowels and kidneys are starting to come around. They were able to suction some of the fluid off his lungs, he opened his eyes tried getting out of bed and tried to pull the tubes out. Although sounds like he's back he still is a very sick boy and continues to need everyones Prayers and positive thoughts. They had to up the sedation meds so he can't pull everything out. Please keep the Prayers coming

Carolyn justin was seeing Dr. Barbera Felt he was well past five too. He was seeing her until last year when she thought he would be better off being followed through psych. She was great, she even had me set up an appt with his school after I told her about the trouble we were having. Lol wish I had a camera to get the look on everyones face when we walked in and she introduced herself. She also would call and check on us. The number there is 734 936-9777 located first floor taubman just past ob/gyn. Have your doc fax over referral our ins is weird about it too they covered her but not psych she is a developmental behavioralist. Justin is now being seen out by domino farms U of M east campus I beleive

Carolyn he's still at Webster in Livonia grrrrrrrrrrr. As for me just found out have bilateral carpal tunnel, torn rotator cuff r shoulder and 4 smaller tears in left and a cyst or something inside the muscle of right shoulder, but other than that I'm doing just dandy lol. The girls have been talking and I think it's great lys really misses Elizabeth. LOL yours won't talk and mine won't stop unless she's sleeping and even then sometimes she talks in her sleep lol. As for Justin we are redoing Behavioral Plan and now finally they listened and have him go into a more self contained classroom with one of the 6th graders and they do his work which he just loves. His school is for the cognitively impaired and the academically gifted so he's paired up with one of the kids. I keep trying to tell them he is more comfortable and use to working with typical kids and the responds better but hey I'm just mom what do I know Well have to scoot have a meeting at Lys' school. Talk to you soon

No advice here either as we are going through the same thing. Except with Justin he has behavior issues-ADHD or PDD NOS still working on that one. The school will call 3-4 times a week to come get him their reasons vary from throwing up to severe poos. Pick him up and he's fine nothing the whole entire time. They just don't feel like dealing with him so they call and say he's sick. Fortunately I'm not working but then again who will keep me on when I have to keep going and picking him up. I would make them keep him there unless he has a fever but I'm not too crazy about his teacher this year-old school marm right down to the old shiny gold, black polished wood handle school bell setting right in front of her desk. We too have had Doctors notes detailing side effects of the wonderful meds he's on, because they called so much for diarrhea I took him to a pediatric gastro doc, ran all the tests and guess what not nothing grrrrrrrr. These are trained professionals so why does it take us parents to tell them what to do, Justin has issues with the commotion during passing time, they don't know what to do had to tell them try head phones, took in his mp3 player, duh worked like a charm. Had to pick him up from school at the end of day he refused to get on the bus and between 6 trained adults they couldn't get him on the bus plus they said he was very argumentative ummmmm duh again he was trying to tell them he can't get on the bus without his harness on, their response oh we didn't see it in there open the back pack and there it is grrrrrr. Oh I could go on and on

Thanks A. and CC, Justin is not in his home district we pulled him out because of the way things were done there so he is in a neighboring district so I know we are going to get a little messy here with them saying he has to go to his home district for that even though they have it also grrrrrrrrr I'm still trying to find something as far as our involved districts concerning this but haven't came up with anything yet. I know ESY would be a GREAT benefit for him just with his behaviors alone, so now I'm in the process of writing up MY copy of his IEP and trying to list the why's other than the regression aspect. Last but not least I have my trusty copy of IDEA sitting right along side me with my little BRIGHT colored stickies hanging out of the folder LOL.

Ok Justin has been denied ESY on several occasions because he retains everything but my question is can I request ESY based on behavioral problems, such as if he misses even a week of school it takes him awhile to get back into the groove, so I was thinking if he was to go thru ESY maybe it would help him learn on how to behave in class, I hope this is making sense . He has missed alot of school but he usually does starting in Nov. until April because of URI and stuff like that. His IEP and 3 yr eval are scheduled for May 11th so hopefully I can find something out before then. Thanks everyone in advance

Trisha, the 3 yr eval is done when they exit EI into preschool, here it was when he was leaving the toddler class and transitioning into preschool. Let's see as far as the testing, the Psychologist part I remeber some of them.... stacking blocks if so how many, putting I think it was like 10 little cubes into a dixie cup-this one was kinda cute he leaned over to his teacher to give her a kiss and when she leaned into him he took the last block and put it behind his back like no one seen him do it lol, black and white pictures in a book-he was asked to pick out certain things like ball, cat etc., he gave him a doll and asked Justin to comb her hair, feed the baby and Justin even went as far as to wipe it's mouth lol, draw a circle, point to like a red cube when there are several different colors on the floor to choose from, like the blocks part he didn't do until afterwards and the picking things out of a book he did afterwards too like he didn't like being told what to do, but the psychologist still gave him credit for doing it once he seen him do it. So far that's all I remember if I remember anymore I'll let you know hope it helps.
