My daughter is 18 and has lived with a displaced platella for a few years. The orthopedic we seen said she would not recommend surgery on it because it could make it more stiff and at the time was not bothering her. I feel like it is bothering her now and I’m afraid it is starting to effect her hip. I’m afraid that she would not be too cooperative with physical therapy after a knee surgery which seems important for healing. Has anyone had this happen with their son or daughter with Down syndrome?

Sports injuries are common because of the excessive physical demand from athletic competition. The most common injuries in athletics are in the joints which sustain forcible impacts and hard exertion.
