Good morning, I am new here, looking for some support and information. I’m 34 in September we found out we would be expecting our 5th child . Around 10 weeks the dr said I could do a genetic test. If never done one before but I was excited because I could find out the baby’s gender early. Three weeks later they call me and tell me they can’t really give me any results because they are atypical and inconclusive they said they couldn’t tell my dna from the baby’s. They did say something was up with the X chromosome. So, they set me up with an ultra sound that I did a few days ago I found out it’s a boy!! They say both of his feet are clubbed which could be corrected fairly easy. They also said they found a spot in his heart that looked like a bright spot. Dr said those things and the blood work all are indications of downs. I do have to repeat the blood work but they are pretty set on downs. I’m in complete shock. I keep telling myself he is fine. I don’t feel like anything is different with him. Is it possible they are wrong? How can I deal with a child with special needs? I know it sounds selfish but I’m so scared. Thanks for reading!
