Have to share this with Jackie ( and the rest of you guys out there in UnoLand!!!).....
Last night Alison's school did a fund raiser thing at a local Barnes & Noble. I was looking at some of the Woodbine Books and picked up the one with the photo of Emily painting. Do you know that Little Miss Smartypants Alison, said "Look Mom!!! Emily from computer on that book!!!" Jackie, it was soooo funny, she was so very excited!!!
I guess all those times she sits on my lap asking who the people are in the pics here at Uno, driving me crazy all the while, was another sneaky learning experience for her!!!
She ended up running off on me at the store with the book and showing her teacher and a couple of the kids from her class that her "puter friend Emily" on this book!!! She also managed to tear the cover so another volume from Woodbine's Topics in Down Syndrome has been added to my collection!
Alison is doing great, just turned 6 last Sunday!!! I can't believe how fast time is passing and how grown up she is becoming!!! I'll post an update and a pic soon.

I think our kids absorb so much information when we don't think they are paying attention. I know my Sarah remembers every person and face she has ever met. It's uncanny. Chris

Oh Barb...thats a great story...LOL. I will cut and paste this and send it to Emily...you know...she has gotten so much mileage off of being on that cover...She honestly thinks she is famous because of it...and who knows...she just might be...LOL.
The day that book came out we went to Barnes and Noble in Austin to get a copy of it. Had to ask a woman where it was...and bless her heart...when she realized it was Emily on the cover she just exclaimed and exclaimed. Emily took that copy and held it ...cover out... against her chest and just walked all over the store beaming...and actually had several people speak to her so she could point out the cover to them...LOL. She still refers to it as MY book. I recently ordered her another copy so she could give it to the ARTs program of the ARC where she is working. She told Katie "there are some in there that need this"...? LOL.
I think it is really interesting that Alison recognized it...and that she made the relation to the computer from it. That must have been exciting for you! And of course Emily is her friend ;D There are also a couple of pics of Em inside and my favorite one is of her and Kenny (the walking hormone) who used to be her boyfriend.
