To those who celebrate it, Happy Easter!
I'm getting ready to stuff baskets, and Ethan is always my challenging one because he won't eat ANY candy!
So, he got some cool t-shirts with his favorite super-hero, Batman, and Sonic the Hedgehog from one of his video games. Easter Bunny is bringing him a giant size bag of potato chips, his favorite snack, and his very own can of Coke.
I have to keep a very close eye on my Coke cans, because he will swipe one in a minute. Kind of funny, since he doesn't like any other sweet stuff. And unfortunately for him, I don't let my kids have pop, or soda as some of you may call it, LOL! So the Easter Bunny spoils him and brings him his very own Coke for Easter. Victoria is always a little miffed about that because she doesn't get one.
And of course the other usual Easter stuff, bubbles and outdoor toys. What do you guys do for Easter baskets for those that won't eat candy?
Have a WONDERFUL Easter!!!

Laura,
Sarah wouldn't eat candy until just recently and now she will eat chocolate. It's amazing what they learn at school, huh? Easter Bunny fills eggs with Teddy Grahams and Cheez Its. She will get coloring books, a dvd, a book, a small stuffed animal, a ball and paddle, stickers and a watch this year. I think she will be happy.
Sarah doesn't drink any pop. I didn't even give her juice but she has learned to drink it at school. I always worry about her teeth so I am careful not to give her much sugar.
Have a wonderful Easter. I think our weather doesn't get much better than it is supposed to be tomorrow, at least for a Michigan Easter.

Eric isn't much of a candy eater either. But he too LOVES pop! Root Beer is his favorite. I don't give him any unless its a special occassion, like today. He'll have some with his Easter Dinner. We got him a kite, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, playdough, and a stuffed frog. He's excited because we have about 15 people coming for dinner. He'll get to see his big brothers and the rest of the family. Our weather is suppose to be sunny in Ohio, but only about 54 degrees. But I'll take it over the rain we've had the last few days. HAPPY EASTER TO ALL! God bless!

Of course with no kids Easter is pretty subdued around here. I did have a large group of friends Friday for lunch and we were going to dye eggs for fun...but...of course after a couple of glasses of wine...no one left til around 3 and NO eggs dyed! It was tea for me all the way or I would have been asleep by the time Ed got home.
I will tell you what Em will be doing. After church they will go to a neighbors house (grandmother of their neighbors) for lunch. On Friday all the kids and grandkids bought and stuffed bunches of plastic eggs. When they arrive the guys go out in the large back yard and literally 'throw' these hundreds of eggs all over the backyard...then on signal everyone including adults makes a mad dash to gather them up. I think every family has to put at least 10.00 in 1s in their eggs...so an incentive for all!
We are about to leave for church on this rainy morning...but surely a day to give thanks for that! It is our first measurable rain since October.
I hope everyone has a nice Easter

Happy (belated) Easter!! Jason doesn't like candy either (one sure-fire way of confirming he wasn't expelled from my loins! LOL). He usually gets the bag of chips as well - oh he does like gummy worms. He got 2 new movies and a kite, with some candy in his basket that I knew he wouldn't care about (the candy that is).
We had our Easter dinner at a township hall yesterday so that we could have all of our in-laws at one dinner. It worked out great actually. No one person had to do the entire meal.
My sister was the Easter bunny. OMG, she's such a trip. Ellie was scared to death of her. Missy had the whole bunny outfit on and painted her face white, had the fake bunny nose and teeth, it was very good. However, she skipped one detail which was not wearing bunny glasses or sunglasses. After the party I asked Ellie why she was scared of the Easter bunny, she said, "Because it had eyes like mommy and daddy". Guess she didn't expect the Easter bunny to be part human - LOL!!!!!!

Man, I wish my kids didn't like candy They drive me nuts over the stuff. I'm like you laura on the pop - I only buy it, sometimes, for parties - but usually even our guests have to put up with a choice of tea, water, or coffee. It sounds like you found some very nice alternatives for Ethan I might have gotten lots of little bags of chips instead of the one big bag, even though it would cost more, but that's because my kids are slobs :chuckle:

For Kaelyn I put together a little basket with a new toy cell phone (we told her we were upgrading her plan, she now has a 2 year contract-ha ha), a new toy remote control (so she'll quit recording Oprah with ours!!!), the book "Goodnight Moon", 2 little Fisher Price people, and two small stuffed animals. She proceeded to throw all the toys out of the basket and play with her card and the envelope!!!
She LOVES chocolate and ice cream, but we don't give it to her often. She likes the "foam" on the cokes her daddy has, he'll pour him one, then let her "drink" some of the foam. We have a great picture of this, I need to post it.
