Just for all you parents out there that have to physically restrain you child while having blood drawn....there is light at the end of the tunnel!!! Collin (now 9) had blood taken today without having to be put in a bear hold by 3 people. He got up on the table and held out his arm. One lady supported his arm with her fist under his elbow (just to keep it straight) and the other lady took blood (and dug in his arm but...that is another story). All this was possible because of me...I stooped to bribing him with a chocolate shake Hey my philosophy..is if it works, use it!! Connie

WTG Collin ;DIsn't it just the GREATEST when they decide to cooperate ;D Christopher OMG having blood drawn was a true night mare and sadly he had blood taken lots. I use to HATE when we had to go BUT then one day he too just went in sat down pulled his sleeve up and stuck out his arm ;D We were all like WOW, lets not ask why lets just go with it. From that day on he has never had any issues with them taking blood again ;D Christopher has always been when he is ready all on his terms CC ~

Honestly, I think there is nothing wrong with rewarding your kid for going through a blood draw. I think I deserve a chocolate shake after I have to have blood drawn, too! WTG, Collin! Chris

Ain't that the truth Chris... I remember that day with Liv too. I always do the smoothie thing.. with her eye appointments (cause she hates drops ) and her blood draws. That's Liv's fav. I'm telling ya Connie the first time Liv sat and just let em draw the blood... she never ever had issues afterwards and I am talking ya know a year year and half later and she remembered how BRAVE she was... That memory comes in handy sometimes.. hee hee (((HUGS)) Steff
