and the surgery is over. Laura did very well, the surgeon seemed pleased, but we won't have final results for a couple of weeks. We see the doctor July 2nd to see how straight her eyes are staying. Her eyes are very red on the inside corners. She of course was very groggy after surgery, and a littly loopy. She slept part of the way home, and now is awake and feeling much better.
She was very scared before the surgery, but we are the only ones that knew. She listened to everything she was told, did ask several questions of us after different people would walk off. She was so brave, and we are very proud of her.
Now, I just have to stop looking at her eyes so much!

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it went pretty well. Will hope for a very good result. I am led to believe that after muscle surgery eyes look worse than they are but do feel really sore and scratchy. Hope you can keep Laura comfortable. -- Bob

Bob, you are right. The nurses at the hospital said that others have related the discomfort as feeling like there is sand in their eyes. Laura has been great about not touching her eyes. She can pat her eyes lightly with a damp washcloth, but she doesn't want to do that herself, so she comes and finds me to do it, no matter where I am (like in the bathroom ). The nurses said to give her Tylenol every 4-6 hours around the clock for 24-36 hours. I have been giving it about every 5 hours, and I know it is helping because last night she woke me up right at 4 1/2 hours, telling me her eyes didn't feel good. I took a picture I will try to post later. Thanks for all the good wishes. Sharon
