I've seen the initials IEP throughout these threads, but I don't know what that stands for. Help! Also, how did you find someone to come up with this "plan" for mapping out your child's educational goals...age 3 preschool, age 4 pre-K, age 5 1/2 K. I live in Canada and am wondering if there is something like that here??? My ds, Ian, is linked in with the Infant Development Center but it's been mostly physical, occupational, speech therapy. Thanks. Sandy

IEP''s stand for United States law for a student's Individualized Education Program... it arises from US federal law which covers all entitled students under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) It is unique to the US Sorry I don't know Canada's laws.. but here in the US an IEP for Ian would be very similar to what he is doing now for that age group PT, OT and speech . In early childhood there is a an early intervention team which is SUPPOSED to advise (and usually does ) about the rights, the laws and how to go about planning for your son's education. I would ask your son's therapists .. they should know how to direct you. BTW... saw Ian's pic what a cutie!!
