So this is an odd post from me I will assure you We took Brook to the fair today. On one of Dad's rest stops, Brook and I went over to listen to the man singing. Brook loves dancing So we sat at the end of a bench with two elderly ladies (70's ?) Brook was in the middle of us. So of corse, in true Brook fashion w/ everyone (except them pesky teachers LOL) she just says "HI, me Brook". They smiled. Then they were really checking her out. Talking to her then to themselves but I couldn't hear. The music was loud Brook was signing dance and sing. HAving a great time. The lady closest to Brook reached out and grabed Brooks hand. I usually don't let anyone touch Brooker.... I sat there smiling. The woman looks at me and says" She's an Angel you know". I smiled. I said thank you so much. A bit later her and her friend got up to leave. As the one lady passed me she put her hand on my shoulder and said "Thank you"..... off she went. Hmmmmm... thank me? I wonder, for what? Did Brookster just change her perception of Ds or maybe she is one of us I so wanted to follow her and ask her but I didn't. Now i'm home, perplexed

Maybe just a beautiful ray of sunshine straight from the heart of Brook brightened her day and her perspective. She was clearly blessed by Brook's infectious joy and sweetness. It becomes so clear in situations like this that human life is of inestimable valuable quite apart from any measurable "productivity." The trouble with socialism is that it classifies and values people only by what they can do or give, and joy is not among the measurable products used for this evaluation. It saddens me. Thanks for posting this ray of sunshine, Jennifer. Did Brook enjoy the goats?

Well, not so much No sheep, goats or piggies. The big horses scared her too. SHe did finally warm up to the mini horses and even gave one a pat on the head. Games are still her favorite She even won a vase...LOL (Kinda, the girl just thought she was too cute throwing dimes, so she gave it to her ) While talking w/ Hub's last night about this he reminded me of another lady too. Someone was hollering "Mam, mam, mam" Not to me I thought. She caught up to us, asked if she could give Brook a bracelet. I agreed, She tied it on and says " God made this one Perfect". I say "yep, He did" SHe chatted w/ Hub's for a minute while I was wondering around. He snapped these pic's when I wasn't looking. Strange day at the Oregon State Fair

Ah, there's a plan. Jennifer hits lottery jackpot and treats us all to a week at Coronado Springs next July for the NDSC thing. Could be Lynn's best chance of seeing the mouse again anytime soon. There are lots of Uno Masers I'd like to meet and hear from. Would like to hear MB speak. Don't know if I'll ever have the chance. But given a choice of listening to MB or spending some quality time with her Son, and could only do one, think I'd opt for Son. Think that could be a real hoot. -- Bob

Ahhh tears in my eyes. That was too sweet. Isn't it amazing what our little ones do to people. She is just so irresistable, she brings out the best in people. This kind of thing happens to us quite often with NOah, even though his adorable little sister is right there, some people just feel the need to tell us he is an Angel. They all are. Oh and I just know one day I am going to go visit you and Brook and family. I know this will sound crazy but I actually try to talk to Shawn about moving to Oregon. I have never been, but I know you guys live there so it must be worth something. Plus my fmaily is all in Cali, bu t Shawn doesn't like So. Cal.
