Nicky's paediatrician was away during his recent hospital admission for a bleed in his stomach and just found out about it today. She phoned me this afternoon to ask what had been happening as she has not seen his notes yet. I told her that the Doctors who saw him said to leave well alone unless he has another bleed but she is not prepared to risk this happening and is referring Nick to the surgeon at Alder Hey (Children's Hospital in Liverpool) for an urgent appointment. I have great confidence in this Paed and the surgeon as they have both saved Nicky's life on a number of occasions but of course I am now worried that she is so concerned and am thinking all sorts of horrible thoughts.

Pauline, Don't know how you could not be worried. But this could be a good thing. I think it might be a good idea to get a couple of good doctors to look into what was going on with Nicky. Just hope they can investigate and come up with some useful info without having to do anything very unpleasant or stressful to him. We'll send good thoughts and positive vibes. Keep us posted please. 'Course we'd much prefer good news to not so good. Regards, Bob

I agree.. I think I'd be worried too... it's a parent thing. Did the doc say what she thought it could be? I hope your mind isn't wandering too much. I am sure, like Bob said, a couple good docs might do some good!
Please keep us posted and MANY MANY hugs and prayers that all goes well and is ok!
A.

I understand why you're worried. But, it's such a great thing that this doc is SO interested in Nicky and she seems to know him so well! It's also good that you have positive experiences with this surgeon. Maybe he'll check Nicky out and decide to go with the other docs and leave well enough alone for now. Thanks for the update, and I hope we'll hear some good news after his next check up. Susan

It's impossible to NOT worry about your children. Sounds like they're being safe, though, which is a good thing. Hope all goes well, and the tests aren't too invasive. Good luck! Keep us posted!
