We recently purchased an Ipod touch and then loved it so much we now have two lol.
I know there are apps for kids with speech delays, wondering if anyone uses them and if so which ones?
Thanks Jess

Mom's Voice Flashcards is awesome! I don't even think it's intended for special needs, but Joshie loves it. His favorites are, of course, the pictures of the family. "Touch Daddy. Can you find Mommy?"
He also likes the Signing Time app that includes the song videos.

Angela is in love with my Itouch. I just got it last week, and have put about 30 different apps on there for her, and all the ones I need for me to use as study tools for school! (I went back to school full-time this year.) I swear, there's an app for EVERYTHING! Today I'm adding Christmas music for Angela. I looked at the pecs-type app, since it's often hard for other people to understand what she's saying unless the mom/interpreter is along, but didn't want to spend another $250 for it. Maybe after the January 1st I can do it.
I specifically got this to keep Angela busy on the plane in a couple of weeks. Well, last night my PCA cancelled so I had to take her along to dog school (I teach obedience classes) and she sat the whole time with the Itouch, messing around with all her apps. She was perfectly content.

Do the apps cost money?

Adrienne: it depends upon the apps you get. Many are free (most of what I downloaded for Angela are free) but some are just .99. I think I've spent a total of $12 on apps all togther, but have 30-40 of them! While the pecs-type app ( www.proloquo2go.com/ )is very expensive at $190, it is FAR cheaper than the other communication devices!
