Life has just been a whirlwind lately. Guess who lives w/ Momma now full time? Mary girl YEAAAAA ;D The circumstances surrounding this move are not the greatest (DHS removed her from her Dad's) but i'm very happy indeed to have my biggest girl back where she belongs. She will be changing schools here at the end of the month and I was wondering if anyone has some tips for this transition? I've tried being VERY possitive about this but obviously she is still scared. I'm Praying big time this goes well. I have a very fragile kid here right now.

What about a special tour/visit? We did that with Regan when we moved and she was in middle school. Regan and I got a special tour of the middle school and it was fun. Maybe a special shopping/lunch moment? Maybe to Target or Walmart to "get ready for school".... fun stuff, maybe new school supplies......they also have funny, anictotal books in the teen section at the bookstores about Middle School and HS.... they are funny, I think we bought Regan a HS one when she started HS.....let's the kids know they are NOT alone. And have you ASKED her what she'd like to make her transition easier? I'd start by asking her.....maybe she just needs a nice mommy hand to hold..... a.

Thx A Yes we will go get new stuff for a new school. B/c the next couple weeks are either vacation or 1/2 days, Mary will go and hang out w/ a buddy for awhile. Learn the school and then start on the 30th for the new schools new semester. She seems to be fine. SHe even has a real nice friend who will show her around and introduce her to his friends. Mary told the CPS worker she will be fine in her new school and is excited to meet new friends I tell ya, last year Marys Dad had a little trubble w/ the old school and her Dad took her out and wanted her to go to my school. When I went to sign her up, I met the nicest lady in the Spec Ed dept. SHe saw what happened w/ the situation and actually wrote a letter on my behalf to the courts. I forgot her name and couldn't find the paper anywhere. Yesterday while waiting in line at the office, she walked in the front door. Yeaaaaa We sat and had a nice talk in the lunch room yesterday and she is promissing me she will be Marys personal case worker and get her up to par w/ her credits and grades. I'm so very thankful. This should be just what Mary needs They have some awesome classes there that I feel will be very benificial to Mary. I know this is off topic from Ds so you can erase this post if you need to. I just had no experenced parents to ask here. My friends live in this black box that sits on the desk

My parents were divorced when I was 9 and my Mom and I moved around lots and I had to change schools lots and sometimes in the middle of the year. Honestly the first day was just the hardest each time no matter what BUT then it was free sailing after that day ;D Might be out there but for me what helped was having a new cool outfit on for the first new day and knowing I was coming home to my Mom whom loved me no matter what ;D BEST of Luck to Mary and Yea that you and she are back together full time CC~
