We got Emily moved in officially on Tuesday. Let me just say it was a long and physically and emotionally draining event...LOL..speaking of ME ;D Em was more than ready to go.
She will be there just a week before leaving to come home here for Thanksgiving and then back for a week at Christmas. Normally we have just had her stay from Thanksgiving until the first of the year to give Katie a break but in this setting she just can be away for 2 weeks at a time which is new for us. However she has a lot going on in Austin the next 3 weeks so good she will be there. Her chorus has some performances including one in the State Capitol on Dec 14.
The other two women in the house were really happy she is finally there and Emily was excited to see them again too. I think this will be a match all round and while I really still would rather have her here I know she is in a good place for the time being.

Congratulations Jackie! I have been following the posts, and I know it has been a difficult transition. I hope and pray all works out well. It surely sounds like a promising start!

Alright!!!!!!!!!!! That is wonderful news, at least on Emily's part. I know you want her with you = ) I hope and pray that it continues to be the right place for her and that she will be happy there and grow there.

Ok...first report from Gabby the woman who owns the house. She said Emily is showing no signs of missing anyone (HA!) and has settled in nicely. She said Emily talks ALL the time and is even giving 'advice' to the other girls. One of her new housemates lost her mother 2 yrs ago and apparently Emily told her that she needs to let her emotions out...that it is not good to bottle them up inside of you. WAY TO GO EM!!!
I think Emily is definitely the most socially mature in this little group and I am happy to see her already taking a leadership role while still wanting to be a peer friend with everyone. Gabby indicated they are more than pleased she is living there which warms my heart. She will be at Katies tonight so she can leave with them to come home here for Thanksgiving in a day or two.

I'm so happy for Em, and know it will take time for everyone to adjust. Emily sounds just like the young lady I'd love to meet and get to know.

HUGS to you Jackie, Honestly I am so NOT ready to deal with this and my Chris THANKFULLY I have lots more years to go yet I for sure plan on using these years I have educating myself. Just wondering why do they have a rule that says how long Em can be away? I am sure there is a good reason BUT Man oh Man if I want my boy home for the holidays and its longer then 2 weeks so what? Unless of course it would interfere with a job. Only asking cause I am asking everything I can think of about this type of transition so that I can be prepared one day when the time comes for us CC~

I am not sure of the exact reason but it has something to do with the type of funding she is receiving...her housemom has said not to worry...we can fudge...and really Em is happiest with about a week or 10 day visit...afterall her LIFE is really not here anymore although we have good times when she comes.

I know with our MDCP services for Kaelyn, we cannot have more than a month lapse in services, so I'm sure it's similar to that. Hope to get to see ya'll when she's home, just holler at me!
