Oh my gosh, you guys, he looks so much better!!! They took him off the vent this morning, and he is breathing on his own, conscious and aware and talking. I couldn't get over how much better he looked.
His voice is very soft, and he's hard to hear and understand, I'm sure that the vent has made his throat sore. His Pastor stopped in while I was there, and Chase had only been awake and aware for about a half hour. He asked Pastor Ted where his wife Linda was, then asked him to say a prayer!!!
He took a few sips of water (didn't want to let go of it, LOL!) and if he keeps that down he can have clear liquids.
Robin is on cloud nine, and I just can't stop grinning myself. Talk about doing the happy dance!!! They still have some significant concerns and he's not out of the woods yet, so please continue the prayers and positive thoughts.
Thank you to all those who've been praying for him, and continue to do so. The improvement in him is nothing short of a miracle.

Oh laura I've been doing the happy dance since Nichole texted not to mention balling happy tears now if only I could do a back flip. Prayers continue to go out til that boy is back home in his own bed. Man I wish I could shake this nasty cough grrrr.

Hey Laura, I'd join you in that "backflip", but it wouldn't be pretty! Happy tears now! When this guy is all better we got to plan a summer meet-up so we can all give him a HUGE hug! That boy will be smothered in kisses! Keeping him in my prayers!!
"Be still and know that I am God".....one of my favorite verses...sometimes forget how powerful it really is.

I feel lucky that I just caught up on this last night... what a rollercoaster!! When things calm down some, can someone post what happened? I read about the strep, then toxic shock... but still unclear. That's how I operate... need the details thanks! I've called friends and family for prayer support, and some have called back for an update - cool, huh? So we are continuing to pray for a full recovery And Dolly... that's one of my favorites! Jodi

Awesome news, Laura!!!!! I'm so so glad you've been able to be there to support Robin in person through this nightmare!
Jodi, we never actually had the details. Robin only told me that he had a strep infection. I don't know if that meant strep throat, a strep respiratory infection, strep pneumonia, etc. That led to scarlet fever, and then toxic shock. The toxic shock is what has torn his system to pieces.........from his lungs and heart to his kidney and liver. I am SO thrilled that he is making progress, and on his way to being able to go back to being a little stinker!!!
And just one more thing I absolutely love about Uno mas...............whether we know the person or not (I know that a lot of the newer members might not know Chase and Robin), we are always supportive and ready to offer prayers and positive thoughts for anyone who needs them. Like an extended family.............I love that!!!

Oh my gosh, I haven't been on here in so long I didn't realize what was going on with Chase! Poor guy, hopefully he'll be back to himself in no time.
Hugs to Robin and Chase!

I really appreciate the updates here and on Facebook. I hope the news is still good today? I have had Chase and his family in my prayers all week. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or I missed a message somewhere... but when I try to use the eGreeting to send a message to Robin and Chase ... it's asking for a facility and room #. I went back through previous posts but I don't see it. Are those fields supposed to already be filled in when I click the link? (Pre-populated, as they say).

Michelle..........for "facility", click on Michigan. For "room", type in ICU. If he gets moved to a regular room, I'm thinking they'll know him well enough by then to know where he moved. Chase is a good reader, and I know he enjoys getting messages from us.
