Abby is in pre-K and won't be five until June 3rd. She is now riding the school bus one day a week so she can get used to it. Next week or the week after, it will be two days, and by the end of the school year, it will be every day.
There are eight kids on her bus, and that's the maximum. She has her own seat, and when she gets off, the bus driver covers it so nobody else uses it.
The people who are involved with Abby's schooling have been so good to her and so helpful. We are truly blessed.
I just can't figure out how she's gotten so big. I guess yesterday they got french fries and Abby had one that was a little limp. She handed it to her mom and told her, "It's empty." I just loved it.
We had a great conversation on Tuesday because she told me about riding the school bus. It goes "zoom."
I'm so thrilled that she is healthy and doing well. The scare we had a couple of weeks ago just really knocked me for a loop.

I know that scare all too well. We had a few scares with Daniel and thankfully....they have always just been scares....nothing serious. Now onto those apron strings. I know all about those too . Daniel rides the bus to school and he loves it too. Abby and he are just a few days apart...and I'll tell you, this age is amazing!!! Prayers for good health for both our babies

You are so right. I keep your son in my thoughts because I know he is close to Abby's age. I think his birthday is the 6th??? Anyway, they have gotten really big way to quickly for this grandmother. I remember the first visit to my house. Abby came when she was 11 months old. She kept her folks up all night and her daddy carried her out to me around 6:00 AM and asked me to watch her. I put her head on my shoulder and patted her back. Soon Abby raised up and tried to plant a big kiss on my mouth....she was close. My chin got the most precious kiss ever in the world!!! She then just broke out in the biggest grin I've ever seen. I do love that baby girl. Char

Danny is only 4 days younger than Stevie Char, I love your Abby stories, and I'm glad that her bus goes "zoom" Stevie has been riding the bus since she turned 3 nearly 2 years ago. She only ever has one or two kids on with her, she has her own seat with a very cool car-seat thing in it. Her bus drivers adore her and she chats away to both of them - one on the way to school, and another on the way back home.

Char, will Abby be in Kindergarten next year? We kept Stevie back since she does so well with the group one year behind her. She will start Kindergarten at 6.

I'm not sure what Abby's folks have planned for next year. I'm glad you brought that up so I can call and ask them. I just never know what to ask next.
I do know that Abby so very fortunate to live in a very small community. I don't think there are 8K people in the entire county. I'm just thrilled that she loves school and the kids in her class.
