samantha had her tear ducts flushed and probed today at childrens. they put alot of diffrent eye drops in her eyes before the surgery. the surgery went well. in and out in 15 minutes. the doctor said it went really well. samantha has to go back sometime this yr to have another eye surgery . she will later have to have her eye operated on for the eyes rolling. she does not have to wear glasses. she fought me all day over the drops to when we were leaveing until we got home. i stoped the car 10 times to get after her for un doing her seat belt for her car seat. she fussed at me untill we got home. she is doing better now. sue

Sue, Sorry you had such a rough day. Charlie has had 3 procedures on his left eye and one on his right, with a couple of exams under anesthesia thrown in. Never fun. Bet Samantha didn't have much fun today. But, looking on the bright side, isn't it great that she's such a strong, resilent, and independent young lady. Bodes well for her future. Give her a big hug from a dirty old man, won't you, please? Bob

Aww....Sue! Sarah has had her tear ducts probed four different times plus she had tubes. Those gooey eyes are awful! Sarah had her tubes taken out last December after having them in for six months and they didn't seem to work. Her eyes were just as gooey as before the tubes. Last spring she had a chronic ear infection and went on three different antibiotics in a row and suddenly her tear ducts were clear! I have no idea why but she has done really well for the past 6 months. I just cross my fingers that we are done with tear duct problems.
I know surgery is always hard for our little ones (mom and dad, too!!!). Give Samantha Jo a big hug for me!

we are using alittle baby shampoo diluted in alot of water to clean her eyes out and it works good. does not tear up her eyes any. we use eye drops and we use an eye oinment the eye doctor gave us. it helps . she had a bad eye infection over 2 weeks ago and it is doing good now. sue

my mother took samantha jo 2 weeks ago to her eye clinic to see the surgeon who pobed the eyes. he told my mother he thought all the trouble was in the right eye. he did not even know the left eye was the problem. it makes me wander if they probed only one tear duct open? sue

Sue,
I hope the stints work for Samantha Jo. We only kept Sarah's in for six months but it didn't help. We didn't have any tear duct problems for about eight months but now we are back to the gooey, yucky eyes.
