Has anyone attended a Downsed conference? I hear really good things about the Down Syndrome Educational Trust, and they have some conferences in the US. I'm thinking about attending in November, there's one in Cleveland, OH. Definitely pricier than an NDSC convention though......

I just went to the one in Austin last week. It was great - especially if your school is not inclusive or not familiar with the information on educating children with DS. I think the information is most helpful for reading and speech as well as sharing the data on the benefits of inclusion. It is a lot of information but very interesting. You can read all about this stuff online but it's much more clear when explained with examples.
We actually got our school district to send a couple of people as well which I hope will have some small impact.

Thanks for posting about this Laura! Since Cleveland is so close I am 95% sure I will be going..... I also just sent an e-mail to Alison's SpEd teacher with a link to the conference info. I too have heard that their conference are an excellent source of information.
Maybe we'll get to see each other again?!?

We found out yesterday our pediatrician went to the one in Austin here recently. She is RAVING about it. She wishes she had heard of it 5 years ago for her daughter! (who also has DS). Anyway, my husband wants to look into to.
