Hi all, Got some very exciting news today. We have been on the waiting list for a companion dog for Eric for 3 years. We needed a dog that would be good with kids with allergies, so our wait was longer than most. Well, they called today and said they had a "perfect match" for Eric....a male standard (but smaller than most) poodle named "Aaron". He is almost 2 years old, and a gentle, laid back kind of guy. We have to go to the training facility in the middle of July for about 4 days of instruction and bonding. We are very excited, and can't wait to see our new "addition". Anyone else have a companion dog? I'm curious to see how they have trained him especially for Eric. Should be interesting.

Never had a companion dog but did have a standard poodle...my all time favorite dog...they are sooooo smart and have the gentlest loving personalities. It's what I would get if we ever got back into the pet business...NOT!

Aaron will be wonderful for your guy. That dog will pick up on what he needs to do without much training anyway. They know. They understand. I'm a huge animal lover, and all of mine have been so good with my grandchildren. Standard poodles are some of the best dogs in the world. I would have one if I could have a large dog where I live.
