Hi everyone, I don't know if any of you remember me, but my name is Sheryl and I am the mom of 6....from 21 year old son to newborn daughter. I have 2 three year old daughters with DS (one is home grown, the other is imported from Taiwan.) I lurk here occasionally but haven't posted in a long time. My life has been absolutely crazy in the last 6 months! I want to get back in the swing here and will catch up later tonight (hopefully?) but have a pressing question I thought maybe ya'all could help me with.
Elizabeth and Chiao-Chiao (Lily), my 3 year olds, have started a car seat strike. I put them in, they wait until i'm headed down the road and they push the chest clip down and take their arms out. They can't actually get OUT of the seat, but their top halves are out. I make sure the straps are very snug (Elizabeth actually was upset today because it scraped her arm to pull it out, but pull it out she did). I pull over and put them back and before I'm half mile down the road they're out again.
Does anyone have any ideas? Know of any clips you can add to the belts, etc? I don't want to put anything on them that an emergency rescue worker couldn't get off in a hurry if needed (so I guess duct tape is out! haha) but I NEED to find a way to keep them in the seat...arms and all.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! (and a quick catch up for those of us who haven't been around tons)
Thanks Sheryl

I had the same problem with Sarah so I put diaper pins under the clip on each strap and that did the trick. Very frustrating though!

My 2-year old does the same thing, very annoying. I haven't found a solution yet other than trying to keep it nice and snug, but she's backed off a bit so hopefully we're at the end of it.

Sorry, no advice for you..Ayden hasn't figured that out yet but I'm sure it's coming.. Ashley used to do that when she was little, but I can't remember what I did, other than freak out when I looked in my rearview mirror and saw my toddler standing in her carseat with a big ole grin on her face.. ha Congratulations on your newest! Looks like time to update your signature line ; )
