So we leave last Tuesday, trip going well, and about 10 minutes from the hotel in Dallas Kaelyn throws up all over herself, her car seat, and the back seat (and some of our luggage). We pull over as soon as we can (we're in 5:00 traffic!) and spend the next 30 minutes cleaning things up the best that we can. Poor baby. Had to cancel our dinner plans some friends!!!
Then we get to the Hyatt Place we had reserved. First room only has a shower, no tub. Baby girl is gonna need a bath!! So they move us. Next room smells AWFUL (worse than the truck does now!). Next room, the air conditioner is blowing HOT air even though it is set on the coldest setting. My husband, sweating and very smelly now (he cleaned the bulk of the throw up!) tells me to get on the phone and get a room to the Gaylord Texan (we had originally talked about staying there but were going to save money on a hotel and have more money for fun!). We get a room and head over there.
That night was spent bathing and doing laundry. I wake up about 4am and feel like my arms and legs are on fire. Side effect of the niaspan my doc started me on (I am calling them today!!!). We get up Wed. morning, have a very nice breakfast, and head out to the Galleria. Shop, eat, have fun. Head over to Grapevine Mills Mall and do a little more shopping. Relax at the hotel, then head out to Waters-Creek to have dinner with our friends. We do a little shopping there, then eat dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. My husband started feeling bad and couldn't eat. He felt SO bad about having to cut the evening short.
We get back to the hotel and my hubby proceeds to be sick ALL night. Didn't sleep. Get up the next morning and he is sick ALL day. Kaelyn and I finally went for a swim. We ordered room service for dinner that night. Hubby is sick most of the night again. We get up Friday and Kaelyn and I go to breakfast while my hubby tries to rest some more. Just as KK and I start eating, she proceeds to throw up all over the table!!! The waitress was SO nice and helpful. At this point I was DONE with this trip!
It doesn't help that as much as we are paying a night for this hotel, the room wasn't as nice as expected. Plus, they put us RIGHT next to a staff room, and of course there is staff in there working all night long, and the walls were VERY thin, so we heard everything all night.
We get on the road about 10am. Stop at Bass Pro shop first, my hubby felt like walking around some. He was starting to feel better. We stopped in Decatur for lunch and had a great waitress and a good lunch. Took our time getting home. Stopped in Hedley and got some fresh pecans, plums, and cucumbers. Got home about 8 or so that night. Everyone seems to be doing better.
We were sad we didn't get to go to the zoo like we had planned or make it over to see Kaelyn's great grandmother. Just another reason to go back down there!
