Hi all, today is day 7 of Ayden's chemotherapy. So far he has been tolerating it very well, he is still in pretty good spirits, and hasn't had any nausea or vomiting from his treatments yet. He mostly just sits around watching signing time, and eating. I think he has gained about a pound already from the steroids, and the pizza for dinner everyday..
Matt started back to work this week so we have been taking shifts staying with Ayden. I stay all day then go home in the evening to be with Evan. Luckily my mom has come to stay with us to be with Evan and Ashley when I can't.
This past week has been such an adjustment, I think I am still in shock over the whole thing. I hate seeing my little man in pain, and confined to his bed. he is constantly getting some IV med or another, so he can't even get out of bed to play. I think that is starting to get to him too, when I was tending to Evan yesterday (on one of his rare visits) I heard Ayden saying "pull pull pull pull" I turned around and he was pulling on his saline fluid line, I think he was trying to get rid of it. I had to smile though, at least he was talking : )
Tomorrow is another chemotherapy drug day, he will also be getting a spinal tap and blood test to see how the chemo is working. Please pray for a low leukemia cell count for Ayden. Thank you all so much for your prayers ((hugs))

Poor John would see the chemo cart come in the room and he would run and hide. This is going to be hard, but you and Ayden will come through with a different outlook on life. Mom, be sure you take care of yourself. That was the hard part for me. I never left John's side, for 6 mths. But we have a bond like never before. You will get used to all of the lines, Ayden will too. You both will learn how to play around them. Ask your Dr. about therapy, they should still be able to continue those. Where are you located. What hospital?

Sounds like you're all doing a good job of dealing with what you're dealt. But sometimes think it would be nice to be able to call for a new shuffle. Hope Ayden continues to do well and you get some good test results. -- Bob

Thanks for your prayers, today he is getting a spinal tap and chemo into his central nervous system. Please say a quick prayer that all goes well today, he'll be getting more chemo tonight. Brandi, thank you for your offer of sending books and crayons, he is doing ok with those right now, but I know he would love to get a picture colored by Kaelyn! I will hang it on his wall so he can see it, next to his cards. If you would like to send him a greeting, here is his mailing address. (we'll be here for at least 3 more weeks)

Ayden LOVES Elmo! In fact, he had a visit from Elmo yesterday There were about 50 United Airlines employees who came to the hospital as part of their community service project that they do wherever their annual conference is held. They brought toys, and food, and Elmo, and walked around visiting the kids and playing with them. They were all very nice and did a great thing! Ayden was so excited to see Elmo!!! And my little man took his chemo like a trooper, he was up signing with Rachel right after he was done. God bless Signing time! Now we don't have any chemotherapy until next week. Other good news, his ultrasound yesterday showed that the clot he had in his arm is gone, and his spinal tap still showed no leukemia cells in his central nervous system. Thank you all for your prayers, they are working!!!!

Myria, I pray for you to be strong for yourself, and Ayden. I ask God to give you peace, and comfort while you are in there. I ask that you will have great nurses to sneak in at night to change Ayden so you can rest. That you will sleep knowing that this is a bump in the road. I pray that the right people come to you at the right time, and say the right things. I ask that you will meet new friends to help you through the rough spots. I ask that Ayden will shine and be a blessing to everyone he meets. That they will see Gods work in him. I pray he will change lives daily. I pray for your comfort that you will have the energy to go through what is happening. That the chemo will only touch the cancer, and nothing else. That Ayden will stay strong and fight. No infections, or viruses to slow his recovery. I ask that nothing negative enter your room, and your angels to guard your beds at night and guard your hearts and minds. Please reach out when you need a break, there are great people there willing to help you . Be strong but cry when you need to. This is a hard punch ya'll are going through. I pray that you be strong when his hair comes out, know that the chemo is healing. Ayden is beautful....hair will grow back. Prepare yourself, but allow yourself to grieve. You are loved and your extended family is praying, all over the world. Take comfort in that. Know that the Lord is with you and all things are possible through him. I pray that Ayden will shine with Gods love and touch everyone who enters your room. Most of all I pray for a quick and speedy recovery. That every test will go by fast and have good results every time. Hold tight to your family...pray for them. Ask for protection to fall on your loved ones. If you need to talk, day or night call me. 678-988-6777
