Dear friends. I just got off the phone with Char's son, Mark. He gave me permission to share this with all of you. I have some very sad news friends. Char had a living will and in it said that if she was ever on life support and not expected to survive, she would want to go be in Heaven. The son's are waiting for the sister to arrive tonight and either tonight or tomorrow morning they will be removing her from life support. She has three major bleeds in her brain and then when they did a scan she has a mass in her lung.
I'm soooo sad as I loved this woman alot!! They are working on funeral arrangements when the sister arrives and it will be held in Bisbee. He also gave me permission to give you his phone number. He said hearing from her friends who loved her is helping him in this difficult time.
Mark's phone number is (PM me if you would like the number. Mark asked to have some private time right now but would enjoy a call later on). Remember they are in Tenn so the time zone is different from where you are calling from.
Many Prayers for Char's family!!!!

This is just heartbreaking news. I totally understand, and I'm glad her family is doing what she wanted to have done. She is such a sweet, kind woman. We met last year at the Nashville Buddy Walk, and have chatted fairly often since then. Just a few weeks ago, she listened as I cried about Emily's new diagnosis and promised to pray for Em. It is just so hard to believe that only a week ago she was counting down the days till her trip to TN. I do hope she was able to spend some time with Abby and her family before she had the stroke.
The part of TN she is in is Central time.

Our friend, Char passed away this morning at 3:05 am. What a tragic loss for her family, as well as all of us here at Uno Mas. I don't know if she even realized how much of an impact she had on all of us over the past few years. I will certainly miss her stories about Abby! It was so refreshing to hear how much she adored that little girl!!! Her son has asked that everyone hold off on calling them for a bit. They are exhausted.

Very sad news but thanks for the update. Hope she did get to see the grandkids before being taken ill. She was a lovely lady. We will miss her. Believe there are two little dogs who will miss her too. Condolences to all her family and friends. -- Bob

Although I am not a "regular" on here these days, I do keep in contact with many via Facebook... Char being one of my many friends..
I will copy and post what I have written on FB as I too am feeling the impact of this sudden loss...
I have only just now read about Char and her passing. Please, Family accept my love from accross the world. I have not known Char personally and have only had her on my friend list for a short time. Our common bond being that we both hold someone dear to our hearts that has Down Syndrome. I have been reading with baited breath, each excited update Char gave during the countdown to her visit to see her much loved Grandchildren and children. In the short time I have had aquaintance, I have seen Char to be full of life and love for her family. There is comfort in knowing that she was surrounded by those she held most dear when she needed them, and was able to spend time with them before. RIP Char, I only wish I had the time to get to know you better ¢¾ See More
Char will be missed terribly and leave a gap in the lives of many.

Bob, I have also been thinking about her sweet dogs. She talked so much about them, and since I'm also a daschund lover, I always enjoyed hearing about her dogs. Her passing is going to be felt by many.

I just saw the news on Facebook. How utterly devastating for their family and what a huge loss to her darling granddaughter. She will be greatly missed her on Uno.
