Thanks so much for asking, Jennifer!!
Em had a wonderful Christmas. She received a TV that is bigger than her current one....32 inches. We thought it would be easier for her to enjoy her DVD's and TV programs. She was pretty excited about it!! And VERY excited about her Golden Girls DVD's!!!
The day after Christmas, Em's dad and I went to her room and rearranged it a bit to make room for the new TV. We were careful to put it in a location that would be directly in front of her bed, so she could lay in bed or sit with her back against the headboard and "watch" tv. A few hrs later, I walked into her room to see what she was doing. And there she sat, at the very END of her bed.......about 18 inches from the TV; sitting totally sideways at the end of the bed. GRRRRRR to ME.............what were we thinking??? All she has is peripheral vision! So, now we have forced her to sit sideways to be able to see the TV at all. I nearly cried. I told her we messed up and we could change her TV and put it next to her bed so she could see it out of the side of her eye and she said "NO! I love it". We're all learning, I guess.
This year, she had to ask someone to read the names on her presents. She always wants to immediately say thank you to whoever gave her a gift. It was sad to see her ask who the present was from..........but SHE never seems sad at all!!
Emily is always the MOST appreciative kid of all on Christmas morning. And this year was no exception. But, she is also the first kid who will remind us of something she had requested for Christmas that she did NOT get!!! At the end of all her presents, she reminded me that she did not get the "autobiography" of Justin Bieber. So, she used some of her money from her grandparents to buy that book. Yesterday, her dad noticed that she was using the magnification device alone and happily reading the book.
She also requested "cool clothes" for Christmas..........and I think she got quite a few things that fit in that category. NICE Christmas, I think!!!
