Gosh, I'd have thunk that Brook was too cute to need any work done. But, from postings on FB, sounds like Brook is having or about to have some run ins with dentists or oral surgeon. Virtual hugs and novocaince for Brook, and maybe a virtual adult beverage of her choice to Jenn. -- Bob

Awww Bob, you are just the sweetest {{{{HUGS}}}} I was just on my way over to tell my bestest buddies the latest news on The Brookster. On game day (Monday) when Sharon's team beat my team, Brook was kinda whinny. I thought she was mad the Ducks lost LOL. Next thing I know the side of her face was swelling up and she was just miserable. I gave her some tylenol and we went to lay down. She was absolutly misserable alllllll night long. I thought she was having troubles breathing from her URI she has had. She's been on augmenton for two weeks and a week of amox before that. So we sat in the bathrrom with the shower and I did everything I knew to do. It was a SOLID sheet of ice outside and the nearest hospital is 20 miles away through the forest part of town. ICY!! Finally made it through the night when I braved the ice to got to the store at 1 am to get some benadryl for her. Called her dentist right here in town for an emergency appt. We went in and he instantly sent us to Doernbeckers/OHSU ER. Thank goodness some of the ice had melted b/c The Hill as we locals call it is an hour away. And like I said, A HILL! LOL BTW, a new freezing rain storm was coming in 3 hrs. Uggg... The ER doc was freeked out to remove anything from Brook so he gave us some pain meds and power~botics and made us an appt to come back in the morning to see the dentists at the dentist school on The Hill. My mom called and said the ice pellets were here and to hurry and get home. Drove home in the snow/ ice pellets and went to bed! Thank you God for melting all the mess b/c we went back up this am at crack of dawn to the dentist school. They were poking around and all of a sudden "pop" goes the infection. Yucky!! They sucked some goo out and called a meeting of her ENT, heart doc, and the oral surgeon. Brook is already schedualed to have oral surgery on Wednesday for a couple cavities and to put this coating stuff on her teeth b/c she grinds so bad. The plan is for us to wait until next week and then pull the tooth while she is already in the OR and they have all the stuff to fix her all up at one time. The ENT did freek me out a bit when she said that when malasia kids get an infection in their mouth it could cause airways to swell so "keep an eye on her good" she said. Of corse I will. I'm on egg shells already b/c my very bestest friend died of a tooth infection about 10 yrs ago now. I'll NEVER forget it! Mary shut the door on the life flight and we never saw her again Oh here is a funny. So while were filling out the paperwork I had to put Marys name as sister who knows all about Brook and how to open her throat if she has a malasia spell. So while the doctor is reading through entering all the info in the computer he comes to Marys name. Gets a weird look on his face and turns to me and asks if Mary is 16 yrs old and see's Dr Myall and has her own case study in the medical journal. I said yes, yes she does. Why? He is teaching the new residents a class on those tramatic bone cists and Mary case is their "homework" next week. LOL Brook is sleeping soundly now and hoggin up the whole bed. I'll let ya all know how the surgery goes next week. {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} BTW, my drink of choice is hot cocoa and a nice shot of Nyquil!!
