HA...not us...in the Texas Panhandle we have been preparing for the BIG ONE for days...blizzard warnings and extreme cold...well...we DO have the blizzard but only with about 2 inches of snow...LOL. The sky is blue but the winds are howling and blowing our dusting around...actual temp is 2 and wind chill is -20...but looks like we got out easy. It will be this cold for two more days and we are warned to stay inside...but when it warms up we will be able to see the streets and sidewalks. Everyone else...be careful.

Lots of folks in the Midwest. And I hope Laura Snowbird is snowed in and we're NOT! We've got a doctor appt too, supposed to go see gastroenterologist tomorrow morning. Forecast is for up to 2/3 inch of ice overnight. Neither Charlie nor I skate. -- Bob
--Update-- Schools cancelled about 5 a.m. Both of us learned to skate a bit on the way from front door to car. Usually 10 to 15 minutes late for appts at CHOP Princeton satellite. Today 25 minutes late, had to scrape nice coating of ice off the van. But roads not that bad. Good checkup with gastro. Charlie seems to be on a good track, weighed 68.5 lbs. and is 52 inches tall. Means he gained 8 pounds and grew 2.5 inches in past year.

We are getting hammered with snow!!! Kathleen's school closed early so I had to pick her up. It's about a 3 minute ride. It took me an hour. I had to go 5MPH the whole way got stuck 3 times someone actually stopped to help me the third time. My son goes to Siena College and they closed early and already closed for tomorrow. This is unheard of for them... We got a about a foot already and at least another foot is expected for tonight and tomorrow. Wish us luck... Looks like I'll be getting plenty of exercise (shoveling). Mary Grace

We're home with about 1/2 inch of ice covering everything. They're predicting another 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of ice tonight followed by 30-35mph winds. Everyone has prepared for power outages in our area because they expect the winds to pull down trees and power lines. We have a generator, so some of our family/friends can come to our house if they need to. I'm ready for spring!

We are getting the snow now. It is expected to come down all day and into the night. At times as fast as 3 inches an hour. Totals are ecpected to be up to 18 inches, phewwww.
Living in Maine it does not seem so terrible. A day home, tending the wood stove, dishing up some homemade meals with family. Yes later we will dig out the shovels, but with the 4 of us it won't take long to remove. Then it is back in for some hot cocoa and maybe a movie.
Of course Jayden had an appointment today that had to be canceled. And of course it was one of those that took months to get into. ahhhhhhhhh the Maine winters. We are prepared but I certainly hope that we do not lose power. All the rest is ok.
Stay safe everyone!!!!! And remember lift with your legs not your back.

Wow sounds like lots of us are dealing with some pretty crappy weather. I agree living in the northeast we're ready for it and I do LOVE a day home with the whole family... but this shoveling is getting tireing ( I will remember lift with my legs LOL). We didn't get as much snow as they predictied ( a little under 2 feet) because we ended up with more sleet and freezing rain instead! Very heavy stuff! I'm headed out now to finish up shoveling the rest of the sleet on the driveway and 2 cars (we cleaned off one car this morning). We did have a nice day. All 3 of my kids were home from school, even Albany Law school closed for 2 days (my oldest goes there) we made cookies and and baked mac and cheese for dinner tonight. Played Harry Potter UNO and Wii. I am SOOOO thankful we didn't lose our power like so many did. I hope no one out there is in the dark tonight and you all stay safe. Thanks for sharing your snow days... Mary Grace

I'm so worried about all of you covered in snow. Please stay safe, warm and dry!! We have no snow. It isn't even snowing on Mt Hood I think the snow level is like 10,000 ft. We have had sunshine and 60* days. I actually mowed the yard the other day. I wished for the sun to go back east to melt out my friends but then I worried about flooding for ya all. :/

Here in the Midwest, we are getting some freezing rain alternating with just rain. A week or so again we got about 6 inches. Not too bad.

Man, I've been trying to get my "blizzard" picture to post, but of course it's too large. I need to lower the setting on my camera. We were snowed in for a couple of glorious snowy, blowy, outrageously windy days. LOVED it! Now the warm-up seems to be on the way. HATE it! LOL! Sorry, but at least I'm predictable.
