I know, it's the small things that sometimes makes us the happiest...LOL! Ethan has struggled with zippers forever, and he FINALLY got it a couple of days ago and zipped up his own coat!!!! Hooray! I was doing the happy dance around the kitchen, and the first thing out of his mouth was "OK, I get McDonalds?"
Of course he did get McDonalds!
So, some of this lesson is for the moms of the little kids. Honestly, I thought he'd never get socks figured out, and he absolutely refused to try for the longest time, saying he couldn't do it, and I finally realized that he never WAS going to get it if I kept doing it for him. DUH! Now he can everything on by himself - socks, underwear, jeans, shirts, snowpants, boots and coat AND zip them up.
And the best part? He is SO proud of himself.

Yes, we realized recently that we just keep doing and doing for Kaelyn. How is she every going to learn? So we've started having her do as much as possible on dressing herself and you know what? She can do quite a bit more than we thought! We also have her "help" us put our socks and shoes on, which she loves to do.

Woot! WTG Ethan!!! Stevie has been working on that very skill all this school year & doesn't seem any closer to getting it She also "can't" do up her jeans - and if I don't do it, she just leaves them open :/ We will have a reckoning someday on that
