So, we signed Ethan up for a soccer team for people with special needs. He didn't want to do it at all. (He's the opposite of Christopher, CC, doesn't like anything physical except skiing. and dancing, LOL!) We need to find some kind of physical activity for him, so we're not above bribing. Like this, "Ethan, if you kick the soccer ball today instead of sitting on it, we'll let you play the Wii for an HOUR when you get home!"
Tonight they had their first "exhibition" at the halftime of the girls soccer game at a local high school. The high school girls stood and made a tunnel for the kids to run through as their names were announced over the loudspeaker. Ethan ran through, having a great time. Then ran back through backward, then through again, obviously having a fabulous time. People were totally cracking up about it, he was too cute.
Then he went out and actually PLAYED! And scored the first goal! I'm not sure what that was all about, but I'm sure hoping we see it again!!!
Going to try to post a couple of pictures from last weekend's practice....

Great pics, Laura! Keep at it..........I'll bet he'll really enjoy it!
One of the few things I miss about Facebook here is that occasionally I get lazy and just want to click on "LIKE".

Well done Ethan! When we signed Sean up for TOPSoccer five years ago, he spent the first season sitting down rolling the soccer ball back and forth with his soccer buddy. Now that years have gone by, it's wonderful to see his self confidence grow and actively actively participate in a league designed for him.
His team plays against other regular teams in the league for fun and if none are available, they play against the parents!

How cool! Maybe he realized he actually likes soccer! I think Kaelyn will be a good soccer player, so we'll be giving it a try in the future. Plus, she loves to dance too, so I'm thinking dance classes soon!!
