losing another social worker

sigh...sigh...and more sighs. This parenting from afar is a royal pain...LOL. I know Emily is in good hands where she is living but from time to time there are glitches that need to be addressed. I just found out today that her social worker who is with what used to be MHMR is moving onward. Her job was to oversee the service providers and the foster situation Emily is in. She was SUPER ;D so I am sad. Also found out yesterday that her former case manager at the service provider is also leaving. She had moved on already to overseeing group homes but was still there for me if I had any concerns about Emily. The person who took her place a year ago has never gotten in touch with me ;D

While everything is going pretty well now I worry that MY support system is in such array. As of yet they have not hired someone to take her social workers place. Maybe I am worrying about nothing, but this one (Rachel) has been such a jewel.

I try not to have to put anything more on Katie when it comes to Emily since she is so busy with her own family ...and having good contacts like these two women has made that easier for me. Just venting...thanks for listening...LOL...over and out. ;D

I wish social workers (especially in the I/DD realm) were paid better and treated better, we wouldn't see this kind of turn over. I am very sad that we lost our awesome social worker with the MDCP program! I could go to her with anything and it got taken care of. Such is the nature of the beast tho. Hang in there!
