that I HATE CANCER!!!!! You guys, it's Mary this time. S*%T!! She had a "thing/bump" on her foot. I took her to the doc. They cut it off and sent it for biopsy. Finally three weeks later, after they sent it to OHSU to the big wig doc, her doc called today. "Jennifer" she said "Do you have a minute?" "Yeaaa..... whats up?" "Jennifer, that thing on mays foot..... it's Melanoma." "F*&K!!!".."Oops sorry doctor" "It's ok. You need to get her to the OHSU doc at 6am tomorrow for more testing and maybe more surgery on her foot. They will be waiting for you" "Ok doctor, I will" Why does God think i'm this strong? I'm telling ya, I fell to the ground like a pile of puddy. This sucks!! Of corse i'll keep ya'll updated. My Mom wants to go w/ us in the morning. I just dont know anymore right now. If you could, say a Prayer for Mary

Thx Chris. My Mom will be here in a minute and we will leave. Mary has no idea what Melanoma is. Her doc and I aggreed to just tell her some other docs want to look at her foot too b/c she is so unique just like her mouth/jaw issues. As long as the doc uses big doctor words I can break it down for Mary in words/terms she will understand. Even though she is 17 yrs old she still is D.D. so I have to keep that in mind and use appropiate terms for her mind to comprehend. Moms here.... gotta go.

Mary will have surgery on her foot tomorrow afternoon 1pm. They will cut out/off more of her foot area and then when they did a full exam and followed her limph node line (?), they found another spot up by her bra line so they will take that area too. There are three clinics who deal w/ this type of melanoma, San Fran, Chicago and NY. They will send off all of these "areas" to San Fran for further review. They will also be doing some sort of Sentinel Limph Node Mapping as well. Something about this cough that the doc has always called asthma, they are not so sure Always something...ughhhh. So the bigger tests they will do on the areas will be back in about three weeks. Untill then she will miss a few days of school and then we will wait, I guess. My Sissy will come w/ us tomorrow as Gramma has to work. Then, as soon as I walk in the door, the place I have had two interviews w/ called. All my references love me and they want me to please work for htem they said. I said well Thursday adn Friday are out but anytime after that will be fine. Thank God it's the graveyard shift I'll be working in the new realease sergical ward of a huge retirement/rehab center Wooot!!

Congrats on the job My heart is just so full of sorrow for your family, Jenn, so you can know that I will be continuing to pray throughout today as you prepare for Mary's next surgery and as they take her in, through the procedure and in recovery. I will continue to pray as the experts look at the results, that their eyes would see what is and is not there, that their minds will be clear in finding all the alternatives for any therapies that might be needed, and that you and Mary will have that peace that passes all understanding as you decide your next steps. Hugs, and more hugs. If you wind up in the windy city, I will go there to give you real hugs, but I'm hoping you can stay close to home for those all-important family hugs and supports.
