Had trouble posting this so it went without my message. For those not on FB I was going thru my mail today and found the Annual Report from Arc of the Capital Area (Austin) and lo and behold Em graced the back page. She will be excited to see this...and Susan...this is what my Em looks like when she needs her eyebrows waxed...LOL

However that is not the painting she sold for so much money...in fact never seen that painting...LOL.
Also part of my 'dream redefinition' time of life now. In the past I would have freaked that such a public pic of Em was produced without makeup, hair, eyebrows...etc...LOL. But now what I see is Emily happy and reflecting a sense of accomplishment. What more can any mother ask

I think because she is so happy in the picture you don't even notice the fine details like makeup, eyebrows, etc. LOVE it!!

I am so worried about her Arts program. I got a mailing that the program has an extreme shortfall in their funding. With the economy they have lost some corporate sponsors and their donation base has dwindled. Also now that the program is 4 yrs old there are very few grants they qualify for.
One of the problems is that they are non profit and established as a day hab so they can take Medicaid monies for clients. However it is not a traditional day hab. It is run like a private art school program with quality materials and artists for teachers. It is an exciting concept and one I embrace heartily. Many of us have agreed to suppliment the medicaid monies but that alone won't continue to support this program. It is run by Arc of the Capital Area (Austin) and I am just crossing my fingers that people in Austin will continue to come thru and support it.

I will be praying for the program to continue. It would be an outright shame for it to not get the money it needs. It's times like these that I wish I were independently wealthy so I could support it! But of course today is the day that the state is supposed to let employees know if they are losing their jobs or not. I'm really hoping my 11 years tenure keeps me here!!
