Emily and I went to Columbus OH to see her eye specialist yesterday. It was a lonnnnnnnnnng appointment; over 2 full hours with the doctor right there with us the whole time. That's impressive to me........how often does a doctor give any patient that much of her day?? Emily's eyes are continuing to improve with every test they did! Her visual acuity has improved, her peripheral vision is getting larger and moving toward the center more.........oh, if she could get that central vision back! ! ! They did an ultrasound of her optic nerve, and it is less swollen and not as "frayed". Great news all the way around! !
Thanks to all of you for your prayers for her. We're feeling very blessed!

That's great! Hope Emily can keep it up. We went to the eye doctor yesterday. 4th post-op visit at Wills. There for 2 1/2 hours. With the discount $21 for parking. Maybe 10 minutes with pediatric ophthalmologist in training, then a 10 minute wait for at most 5 minutes with boss doctor. Even so, very good visit. 5 weeks out from ECP procedure on Charlie's left eye, IOP 15, and eye looking very good. -- Bob

So glad you got a good report too, Bob! ! !
And to think I was annoyed at the $6 parking! (When we first started going there, the docs offices could validate the parking ticket, so it was free......not so anymore). I'll keep your discount $21 parking in mind the next time we go to Columbus.
Thanks, Jackie! Remember, you helped with the research! I've said it many times.........the threat of total blindness for Emily was more devastating to me than Down syndrome. I'm very thankful for all the prayers for Emily!

Susan...I have fought vision problems myself for my whole life...so I appreciate the gift of sight big time. Also having a father in law who was blind most of his life....so happy to hear that Emily has improved and hope maybe its stabilized for good.
