Now that a week has gone by, I was wondering if anyone's child with Ds received a gift that was a big hit? If so, would you add the age of your child to the post?
Thanks!

Erics favorite toy by far is the ELMO....E-L-M-O the stuffed toy that spells out his name like the YMCA song....he loves it! He also loves his Wiggles book for his Leap Pad. And his sister got him a game called "Whack a Mole"...these little moles light up and you have to "whack" them with these big plastic hammers..sounds kinda deranged, but its good fine motor skill practice LOL...Dolly....(eric is 4 yrs old).

Merideth also got the velcro fruit & veggies~maybe it's their age! Hers is currently all over the game room floor. She almost never got past her 1st gift though. We had to take it away to get her to open the rest. It's a Spongebob drawing desk that came with crayons & markers & a roll of SB coloringbook style drawings. The other 2 which she doesn't want to put down are the Wiggles guitar & keyboard. Then the Preschool Videonow color is a big hit. Now she can take the Wiggles, Dora & Blue everywhere !oh & girlie girlgot about 5 Bratz/My Scene dolls with her favorite passtime being changing their shoes :oThink I'm in for it !
Happy New Year ! Suzi

Logan (almost 22 months) received three toys he really likes. The first one is Pop-Onz by Fisher Price. He received the little table that has some parts that spin and several pieces that "pop on." He loves to put the pieces (and other things) on the toy and watch them spin around and around to the music. You really have to see it to understand . . . but Logan really likes it. He also likes his Learn Through Music Learning System with Elmo's Scavenger Hunt cartridge. He'll sit and play with it for a long time. He already knows exactly where to push on each page in order to get the corresponding song. Perhaps he'll eventually learn some of the letters of the alphabet while playing with this toy. The third gift that he really likes is a Playskool bus that sings "The Wheels on the Bus." We've been working on that song (and the motions) for months. Now that he has the song down pat, he loves to do the motions with this toy. It's great fun to watch him. I will have to say, however, that his favorite toy of all time is his Playskool Busy Ball Popper. He received it for Christmas a year ago. He really wasn't able to play much with it at that time (he had just learned to sit up), but he learned over time . . . and by his birthday last March it was the top toy in our home. First he learned how to push the button to make it work. Then he learned to pick up the stray balls and release them back into the toy. As he learned to crawl he would chase after the balls and return them to the popper. It's still his favorite toy -- he'll spend a long, long time playing with it Kim Logan - ds 3/6/03

Hi Everyone,
Well, I must say, Jason (11) doesn't really care for the learning toys like we were hoping he would. Instead, he LOVES his remote control dinosaur (loud and obnoxious). He also has a large wooden castle that he loves to put his dinosaurs and army men in. Anything Harry Potter is pretty great for him too.
Jessie
P.S. Thank GOD he doesn't like the guitar that my vengeful sister got for him! LOL

Jessie - I have to laugh about the guitar & your "vengeful" sister. My one brother (the only one of us w/ no kids) bought my son an electronic DRUM SET. Huge and loud...he loves buying loud gifts for his nieces & nephews to drive the parents crazy....it's so funny...he does it every year. But actually both kids love the drum set, and even I think it's pretty cool!!
Suzi - that veg. set is terrific doncha think? I wish Miss MM liked dolls....she got several this year, none of which she cares about. I love dolls and was hoping I could buy my daughter some but nope.....they're just sitting there. Although she DOES remove all the shoes...but that's about it!

Joy got a kid-friendly flashlight that has been a real hit. She keeps it in her bed, and it has a function that turns it off after a period of inactivity, so the batteries don't wear out. She has been going to sleep much faster because of this wonderful item!!

Wouldn't you know that Sarah likes her maracas and soft ballerina doll from the dollar store the most? Why do I ever shop anywhere else?
She got the Fisher Price Learn Through Music with all the cartridges. She thinks its okay. She loves her stupid and obnoxious Boobah. She also likes her Eeyore. His ears move up and down while he sings. She also got some pop ons that she enjoys. Loves her soft Dora doll.
Santa brought her the new Signing Times DVD's (vol 4-6). She loves vol 1-3 but these new ones move alot faster and don't have nearly as much repetition. I don't like them as well but I will learn more signs.
I can't believe I forgot her third favorite (after the dollar store purchases)toy. She loves her leap frog fridge magnets!
BTW, Sarah is three years, three months old.

My shy, introverted little princess (ROTFL) got a karaoke machine and has been singing up a storm. She thinks she is the next Madonna. Jello, I believe it was you, that started her on her singing career, and let me say.. she LOVES IT!
Hugs toyou all!
