i have been after the eyes doctors for the last 4 yrs to probe and put tubes in samanthas tear ducts. well they probed back in sept of this yr and i think now they only probed the right eye! well the left eye is what i have been **** about . samanthas left eye is the problem and not her right eye. well she has to have the left eye probed and then put a stint in both eyes . they are putting a stint in her right eye just to have it done with the left one. this doctor says if you wait after they are 1 yr old , the operations are not as successs ful. she will be going for her stints and probing late nov or dec of this year. next yr her eyes will be lined up in another surgery. we have to have the stints and tear ducts done now before any more eye operations. i might have to go to a lower wages at work so i can qualify for bcmh to help with sammy's bills. sue

Sue...I don't blame you one bit for wanting to scream !! How frustrating for you..... I actually think you owe it to yourself TO scream.....get it out .....don't let the toxic anger stay in your body...... As far as incusrance bills and frustrations....I can't offer much by the way of help.....BUT....wonder if Sammy would quailfy if SSI.....thus getting insurance...... After my DH and I ( and no D doesn't mean "dear" in this case) seprated & divorced, he quit his job adn left me with no support & no insurance.....things are fine now....support & insurance all back in place....BUT.....for the few months we had non.........Erin was eligible for SSSI and Masshealth......it got us over the hurdle for a few rough months......and stopped as soon as ex was working again.....but my point is, though.......if you can get her qualified for the short-term MAYBE it would be helpful...... I'm sorry that I don't know all the ins & outs of the system....BUT there is something VERY wrong when a littel girl in one of the supposedly richest countries in the world has to struggle with getting an eye oepartaion.....and by the way.....shouldn't it be a "freebie" anyways,.....since they already did it once on the WRONG eye !!?!?! Sue,
I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I understand your frustration and your stress. All I can recommend is one day at a time. Wish I could give you some advice. We've had no eye problems, just heart issues. When we were struggling financially, we qualified for NOTHING!!! because we are paying for a house and paying for a car without an income. Not sure how THAT system works!!! Good luck!

Sue, That sounds so painful to me. Stints in her tear ducts? Are you saying this is when the eyes are roaming like mine and they are trying to correct it? How is Samantha doing during all of this? I think my Mother had told me one time I had trouble with one of my tear ducts once. I have the Stribismus and the Nystigmus. Well, my eyes move sometimes and I can't control it. I was told it would get worse as I age. Hmm, I don't like that but the eye doctor says he can't do anything for me. Sorry if this is downer for you, but I think Samantha may have a better chance than me.
