Hi there, I am Kim from New Zealand. I have posted a couple of times on the message board and put my story on the "our stories" board. I haven't been in Uno Mas for very long. My little boy is Jordan and is 6 years old. He has ds, Hirschsprungs disease (bowel) and my accident they found out he has Pethes as well (hip). He is going into hospital the end of February for removel of his rectum and part of his sigmoid colon. I am scared and frightended about this. He seems to be doing fairly well apart from these two problems. Golly you miss getting the heart problems and end up with other ones instead. I have five children a 21 year old, 18 yr old, 17 yr old and 12 year old.......then along came Jordan just when we thought our family was finished. Thank you for listening to me. Kim

Kim!! Welcome!! It's so great to learn more about Jordan altho, like you, I sure wish he could avoid some of those surgeries. Sounds like Jordan has LOTS of built in therapists with his older sibs (the best therapists around).. and he will keep you VERY young

Welcome to Unomas Kim! I am sorry your son has to have surgery. I know it must be frightening for you and your family. You will be in my thoughts. I am Debbie and I have Down syndrome. I am forty four. I post on here from time to time. I enjoy cruising on the Internet and finding Down syndrome web sites as well as poetry ones and whatever I am interested in at the moment. No, I did not have any health problems when I was child. I do now though. That is another story! Welcome again and come back when you can. Tell us more about your son, Jordan and your family.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
It is so nice to be part of the group especially since living so far away from everyone, you have been very kind.
I also posted a message in the health section and a couple of people repied to that too.
From Kim in New Zealand

Hi Kim,
Welcome to Unomas!!!
I'm Barb, mom to Alison, 22 months DS and her older sisters Caitlin 14 & Sarah 8. We live in the Buffalo, New York area and I am very cold - just dreaming of the day I win the lottery and can go someplace (anyplace!!!) warm like NZ or Australia for your summer and then back to the States for summers here!
